GHOST EVENT BACKDATED [AUDIO]

Hey, everyone, it's Drift. Um, something's... come up? I guess? It's probably not a huge deal, but uh...

[He sounds juuuuust a bit out of it, y'know like in the way someone who is terrified out of their mind might sound while trying to play it super cool at the same time. Man he is trying so hard to sound completely unbothered right now.]

Ah, well, the place Wing and I are staying is kind of completely surrounded by restless spirits. Is there a way to shoo them off, or are the angry souls of the prematurely departed now a permanent fixture here?

[Unless you were Ultra Magnus but shhhh. Drift's going to start sprinkling this shit around the room now. When he finishes up he looks around aaand looks back to Sam in that "now what" sort of way]

[Sam watches, arms crossed and expression pensive. When Drift looks to her, she gives her shoulders a shallow little bob.]

Now we wait, see if anything happens in here.

[A beat, and she slowwwwly turns to where the one ghost was coming in through the wall.]

[Was.]

[PROGRESS]

Is it working? Does that mean it's working?

[even if they're just staying OUTSIDE that's a step in the right direction]

[Sam kind of pivots to face Drift, studying the bot very seriously and squinting slightly. After a long moment, she smiles.]

I think it is! I mean, okay, when I first came in there was something a little off in just your atmosphere? That---anomaly, I guess would be the word---has kind of... cleared up.

We should go outside for a moment. Just out of the apartment by a step or two, to see.

Uh. Sure. yeah! We can do that.

[HE DOESN'T WANNA GO OUTSIDE IN THE GHOOOOOSTS but he is manly and macho so he heads for the door.]

You're really calm about all of this.

[She follows a bit behind, hoping to get a good look at whatever happens when Drift leaves the salted space.]

Well, a lot of ghosts showing up isn't quite as shocking as 'surprise, you're stranded on an alien planet' even if it's kinda creepy, and I have at least seen some ghosts before.

[He walks outside a few steps, starting to reply to her buuut in the middle of getting his first word out the ghosts all start to scoot in closer to him. He pauses for a second aaand then walks backwards right through the door. Careful not to step on her, of course. Whatever he was trying to say before becomes:]

Nnooooooooope.

[thank you for being mindful of your huge feet]

[Sam spends a moment looking thoughtful, fingers steepled. She turns to Drift, offering a little smile in an attempt at reassurance.]

At least we know one thing which works?

Yeah, well. It's a good start?

[Heeeee's just gonna close the door now and go find somewhere on the other side of the room to sit down mmyep]

It is. And it at least it means your living space can stay clear until you find out what the ghosts want, or a way to keep them away from you instead of a set space. There's gotta be something which would work, and the library would probably be a good place to look.

Going to the library means walking through them, doesn't it.

It does, but I can go on my own and start searching. They're not going to pay me any mind.

I don't want to make you go on your own. Didn't you hurt yourself?

[he did notice the limping, after all]

I---oh. The limp? That's nothing new; that's from an accident when I was sixteen.

Oh. Well. I mean, if it hurts, I can still drive you.

How old are you now?

[he's bad at humans ok]

Twenty-two. And it doesn't hurt at all, just means I don't move quite as fast as I might. Though someday I might bum a ride off you, if you wouldn't mind; it's nice to know who here can accommodate passengers.

That's still really young for a human, isn't it? But yeah, I'd be more than happy to give you a lift some time.

Pretty young, yeah; just old enough to be considered an adult, but still adjusting to the transition. And thanks in advance. But for now...?

[She'll amble over to stand by the seated bot, shrugging and smiling.]

Yeah but nah, man; I wouldn't ask you to go wading out into that. If you really want to come with me to try researching, you're totally welcome to, but don't feel obligated for it. Okay?

Seeing as this is kind of my problem, I really can't help but feel obligated to try to work this out myself. I'll come with you.

[even if he is totally spooked]

Well, I gotta respect that. [Especially from someone totally spooked---the ghosts aren't easy to read, but it's all over Drift's aura.] Guess I'm ready to go when you are.

[Drift nods and heads for the door, opens it, looks outside, and immediately closes it again.]

I uh. Might need a second.

[so spooky]

Take your time; I'm not in a big rush.

[If anything, she's content to just kind of check out the apartment now that she's done what she came to do, and now that her carry-all isn't straining with the weight of seasonings. It's kind of interesting, especially since she hasn't spent a whole lot of time looking at Cybertronians' living spaces.]

[you do that, drift is just going to keep staring at this door and trying to hype himself up go go the fuck outside. After a few minutes he speaks up again.]

Okay, okay, I think I'm good.

<small.[With that he opens the door again, and transforms right there so he can't wimp out and close the door again. He lets his door slide open for Sam to hop in]

Okay.

[While some people might find riding inside a Cybertronian strange, Sam regards it as a nice change from being carried and consequently doesn't hesitate to climb into Drift.]

[as soon as she's settled in, Drift takes off, kind of weaving between ghosts. uuugh ectoplasm]
