GHOST EVENT BACKDATED [AUDIO]
Hey, everyone, it's Drift. Um, something's... come up? I guess? It's probably not a huge deal, but uh...
[He sounds juuuuust a bit out of it, y'know like in the way someone who is terrified out of their mind might sound while trying to play it super cool at the same time. Man he is trying so hard to sound completely unbothered right now.]
Ah, well, the place Wing and I are staying is kind of completely surrounded by restless spirits. Is there a way to shoo them off, or are the angry souls of the prematurely departed now a permanent fixture here?

[Daw ankle pats. He appreciates it.]
I'll have to give you more rides in the future, huh?
no subject
[Is it rude to ask? Maybe, but it's hard to avoid wondering what this whole deal has dethroned.]
Well, I don't want to sound like I'd just expect it, but I would like that very much.
no subject
[Nah it's not rude, and Drift welcomes the distraction really.]
It's no problem. Driving's what I'm built for, after all.

[It's been some months, sure, but she is still not over talking to alien robots about strange stuff. Amazing Stories has got nothin' on any of this.]
no subject
[hey that works out, Drift has millions of years worth of stories]
no subject
[it is a big, weird world; better to be informed]
I also can't help but be glad to have you with me this time around, because you should see the bulk bags of salt. I could lift one... maybe. Fennel first?
no subject
Hey, I can carry all of it for you. That sounds like a good place to start to me.
no subject
[She offers a shrug, and a little chuff of laughter.]
I was trying to do the polite thing and split who carries what, but that works just as well and I will not complain.
[What she does do is nod and start for the herbs and spices.]

[shit yes HERRRRRRRBS]

[Having been in only hours earlier, Sam goes straight for what remains of the fennel, hurrying a little because there's this sizable difference in STRIDE LENGTH.]
It's less a favour and more a basic decency thing because calvaire, there's some stuff nobody should have to deal with alone. Spooky stuff especially.
no subject
[Drift tries not to walk too fast. Youuuu humans and your stubby little legs]
Spooky is putting it lightly, I think. But I really appreciate the help.
no subject
[She shrugs, mostly joking, and slows to stop in front of the fennel.]
De nada. Though now that we've got this... [Yeah don't mind her just loading up with little sacks of fennel seed. Roughly eight pounds? Roughly eight pounds. Gotta leave some for whoever comes next.] ...if you don't mind carrying more than the salt, I'm just going to get you to carry me, for practicality.
[Stubby little legs aren't the problem; too-long legs are the problem.]
no subject
Not a problem. Where to next?
no subject
[Sam plunks herself down on that hand, having had more than enough of trying to match pace. This? This cuts down on the awkward for everyone.]
Salt's that way. [She'll point. Go
westleft, young mech!] When I was in earlier, I was surprised by how much they've got in stock despite the perpetual summertime.no subject
I tend to not ask how this place works. Everything is confusing enough without dragging logic into it.
your most put-upon icon for grocery-getting
[...except during the month of December. Without snow, it's going to be too strange.]
shopping is SO HORRIBLE apparently
Apparently!

And I gotta agree---snow's fun when you're sledding or skidooing, but to drive? Not so much.
no subject
What's skidooing?
no subject
[Sam waves her drone over and starts takking at at, talking the while.]
I was lucky enough to have my phone on me when I was pulled here, and since I had everything on it backed up onto P.T. here, I can send you...
[Ping! Ping!]
...some sundog examples. You're out of luck for the Northern lights, though, and I'm sorry to say it. They really are something.
And skidooing---I don't know if you've ever seen that thing I drive around? It's a modified skidoo. They're normally a little like a motorcycle body and handlebar with a pair of skis where the front wheel would be, and a tread under the body back to where the rear wheel would be.

Oh wow! I don't quite understand where the dog part comes in, but that's really incredible!
Come to think of it, I think I used to know someone with an alt mode similar to that.
no subject
I think it's because they look like little companion suns 'dogging' the real sun? Maybe? I don't really know, but I do know that they're supposed to signify colder weather on the way.
Really? Who?
