Fighting. Lots of fighting. Because of Galos, but it sound like you already have that figured out.

I don't know about you, but I'm a bit tired of constant battle.

.......I'd have taken battle over what happened.

[The sparkache is clear in his voice.]

Wing?

[This was probably the most upset Drift had ever heard Wing, and frankly it was worrying him a lot. Said worry was apparent on his face as he gave the jet a gentle squeeze.]

........He used a sparkling to power his...spell. The only way to free her and to stop Galos from leaving us all as undead husks was to free Death so she could die.

[There....he said it...]

[Drift doesn't quite get it but man it sounds pretty horrible anyway.]

Oh, God. That's... that's horrible.

[Aaaand it explains why Wing wanted to get at Galos daaamn.]

[And suddenly getting repaired first doesn't seem so important. He stops, gazing at the ground.]

We tried...we tried everything we could think of to free her and the other Guardian's Galos had captured, including Paian, but we couldn't. We didn't have time. We were being drained of life even as we stood there helpless to do anything but harm an innocent sparkling. [Fists clench as his side, and he's shaking now, plating rattling softly.]

[Drift moves in front of Wing and wraps his arms around him, holding him close.]

Wing, listen. It isn't your fault. It's nobody's fault but Galos. None of you did anything wrong, if anything you freed her from suffering.

[Wing leans into him, arms coming up to loosely wrap around Drift.]

There's no way of knowing. Don't do this to yourself, Wing. If you dwell on it like that, it's only going to hurt you.

[trust Drift he's a professional about this shit.]

[It already hurts him.]

[But he sighs and nods.] You're right. [He doesn't move from leaning into Drift, though, face tucked to his shoulder.]

[well. MORE.

And Drift isn't going to complain, more than happy to stand there holding Wing for as long as the jet needs it. He holds him a little tighter, engine purring gently.]

[He vents softly, engine falling into a gentle purr in time with Drift's.]

[He finally pulls himself together and pulls back to give Drift a little smile.] Come on...let's go get fixed up.

[Drift smiles gently, reaching up to cup Wing's face for a moment.]

As long as you're ready.

[He tucks his face against Drift's hand, his own hand coming up to trap it there for a moment.]

I am.

[What a cutie poot.]

Let's go, then. After that we can decide if we want to spend the next week at the bar or just recharging.

[He has no intention of getting drunk to drown his feelings on this. He will meet Bulkhead at the bar later, but he will not be getting overcharged.]

[He won't comment, though, just nod and shift to walk with his arm around Drift again.]

[last time drift got drunk he was a giant emotional sappy moron dorklord. He probably won't hit the bar either. But he will give Wing a light squeeze as they walk.]

[Yeah... you're cute when you're drunk, but Wing prefers you sober.]

[And off they go to the nearest Gateway to head to the medbay.]

So...what happened out here after I was taken?

Aside from me panicking? Galos made a big announcement and the other Guardians rounded us up to stop him. I mean, it wasn't a lot but. I guess it was a lot.

That didn't make sense, did it.

Heh...[he snugs Drift closer for just a moment, a little squeeze of a hug before his grip loosens for them to keep walking.]

What announcement did he make?

It basically amounted to "guess what, I rule everything now, have a nice day". Only there was nothing nice about it.

[Drift is fine with snugging you can snug the SHIT out of him Wing he will just snug you back.]

[Wing frowns] How did he expect to enforce that?

With force, I would assume.

Anyway, it's all over now. It's not going to do us any good to worry about it.

[He shakes his head] But I think we need to worry about it. He was supposedly a Guardian, right? Someone with the same level of power as the First Forged? And he betrayed us. This was worse than what Leige Maximo did. He was abandoning us, but Galos was torturing some of the very citizens he was supposed to protrct.

Why? How? What was he really after? What about the rest of the Guardians? Who are they accountable to should one be discovered to be planning such heinous things against the people?

Those are all really good points, and we'll get it all figured out, but you really oughta focus on getting better right now.
