[video][Backdated to the arrival of the pets]
[Lea appears on the comm, holding what seems to be a small, vaguely humanoid-looking fireball in his hands. He looks somewhat disgruntled and a bit tired. The critter itself seems content with the situation, though, making little 'chrrring' noises every so often.]
Anybody here know how to house train one of these little firebugs? Cause as it is, he's ruined two rugs, one of my t-shirts, and very nearly set the couch on fire.

Re: [action]
[Lea gestured to the kitchenette as she came inside.]
I really appreciate this. Normal cleaning I can handle, but I'm surprisingly out of practice at dealing with sudden fire damage, especially while also trying to deal with the little firebug that caused it.
[action]
[She stops to kick her shoes off just inside the door, then proceeds to rummage out a pot, dump the little bags' contents in---there's cinnamon there, and cloves, and a couple of orange peels---splash some water on, and start it on the stove.]
Okay. Not going to pretend like I've had a whole lot of practice, so; where'd you like to start?
Re: [action]
[He indicates a largish piece of charred fabric on the floor. I there are numerous small holes burnt in it and most of the rug is charred to the point where it's impossible to tell the original color.]
That's what got the worst of it, I think.
[action]
[Sam crosses to the rug, hissing a breath in through her teeth even as she bends to lift a corner. Straightening, she gives it a little shake.]
My inexpert opinion: it's pooched. I hope you weren't too terribly attached?
Re: [action]
[And the stuff on the stove is already working its magic, alleviating the worst of the burnt smell.]
Wow, that stuff works fast; it already smells better in here.
[action]
[Dropping (gracelessly, on account of her bad leg) into a crouch, Sam starts rolling up the rug.]
One of the best tricks from my misspent youth. Doesn't look like much, but it makes a big difference, doesn't it?
Re: [action]
I'm just glad the locals prefer stone and metal as building materials. If this guy showed up back in Radiant Garden, there could be problems, given the number of wooden houses.
[action]
[The rug rolled, Sam stands to haul it out.]
You should tell me more about where you're from, once I get back from this. If you don't mind?
Good place to wrap? Or did you want to play out the chat? :3
[He hadn't really been trying to keep it a secret, but he'd gotten out of the habit of volunteering information.]

Cool. I don't want to be snoopy, but I'm curious...
[And as Sam returns:]
...and for a lot of our hang-out time the topic of food eclipses all others.
no subject
That's true. Not that food is a bad topic, but still...
Anyway, what would you like to know?

[Sam shrugs.]
Oh, lots of stuff. Liiike... what would you say are its outstanding features? It's Radiant Garden, right? Is magic an open thing there? What's the tech level like?

And technology and certain varieties of magic kind of went hand in hand there; I was surprised to find out how uncommon that was when I got out into the wider World. Harnessed fire magic for cooking and heating, harnessed blizzard magic for refrigeration and air conditioning, harnessed water and thunder magic providing the city with hydro-electric power...
We had our king, Ansem the Wise, to thank for that. He was a great sage, and promoted the study and development of both magic and technology for everyone's good. It was the other side of magic that got us all into trouble, though.
