[Lea appears on the comm, holding what  seems to be a small, vaguely  humanoid-looking fireball in his hands. He looks somewhat disgruntled and a bit tired. The critter itself seems content with the situation, though, making little 'chrrring' noises every so often.]

Anybody here know how to house train one of these little firebugs? Cause as it is, he's ruined two rugs, one of my t-shirts, and very nearly set the couch on fire.

[She and a wolf pup that’s about as big as she is, is sitting on the unburned side of the couch...watching him and his new little pet. The poor dire wolf has a bit or scorched fur on its cheek. No real burns, just some burnt fur. It whines as it gives a big yawn and rests its chin on top of Jendayi’s head.]

...new to me, but if I were you? I'd consider trying to find a big old clawfoot tub or something similar for its 'safe sitting' space while you figure how to house-train it.

[Lea looks over at where Jendayi and her new pet sit. Luckily the damage to the couch was minimal, but one corner is rather seriously scorched.]

You and your new pet OK there, Jendayi? Finally got this little troublemaker under control; the trick now is keeping him that way.

'Interesting' is definitely one way to put it.

And from what I can tell, he's about as smart as your average house pet. Least I think it's a he; not sure if there's a way to check gender on living balls of fire.

Probably a good idea. How to keep him in there though? I can't be watching the little guy 24/7 after all, and no one else here would be able to handle him safely.

He's basically made of fire, so I'm gonna say 'very'. He's really light and not restricted by things like muscles and bones.

[Sirrah purrs.] I’ve seen his like before, though at the risk of being too simplistic in my description, he’s a fire elemental. You’ll not hear him speak, but he is intelligent, and if you are patient you should be able to keep him from making too much of a mess of things.

Yeah, that's.... gonna cause some complications. The only thing I can think of is a mesh sheet, like you see as a curtain on some fireplaces, but he might just be able to pass through it, and if he can't? It seems... almost mean. I grant the the goal is 'no houses burnt down,' but.

Yeah, I'm fine. Annoyed, but fine. Gonna have to figure out how to to house train this little guy, though, if I'm gonna keep him. Can't have him setting everything he touches on fire.

Mm... Patience has never been one of my strong suits, unfortunately. Good to know he can be trained, though.

Any suggestions what to do with him in the meantime? I need to clean up, but if I try to put him down right now, he'll just cause more trouble, whether he means to or not.

Might not have a choice, at least at first. I've gotta clean up the mess he made, so I need to be able to put him down somewhere.

Maybe I could remove all the flammable stuff from the bathroom and just close him up in there at first? I don't wanna be mean to the little guy but fire's a wild element; I might have to get tough with him sooner or later.

Not sure. He was running around all over the place until I caught him, but he hasn't really tried to get away since I did.

I think? I'm pretty sure I picked some up awhile back to use in drinks, but I couldn't tell you exactly where in the cupboard they were off the top of my head.

If there's anything I learned during my university career, it's that stove-simmers are awesome in the aftermath of shit being burnt. Just needed to know if I had to grab any on my way out the door.
