[Lea appears on the comm, holding what  seems to be a small, vaguely  humanoid-looking fireball in his hands. He looks somewhat disgruntled and a bit tired. The critter itself seems content with the situation, though, making little 'chrrring' noises every so often.]

Anybody here know how to house train one of these little firebugs? Cause as it is, he's ruined two rugs, one of my t-shirts, and very nearly set the couch on fire.

More like wet potpourri you have on heat so that it smells stronger. Takes like two seconds, you'll see.

[Lea answers the door, the fire elemental still held carefully in one hand. The little fireball chirps cheerfully at Sam, as if he hadn't recently made a big mess of things. Said mess is now more visible now that Sam's there in person.]

Hey, Sam. That was fast.

I tried to hustle. [She eyes the elemental curiously for a moment---what a weird little thing!---but then bends to pull a crumpled paper bag from a pocket.] Besides, I could get the simmer stuff together in half a song in my sleep. Point me to your pots and I'll start it, then point me at whatever you want me to try and tackle.

Kitchen's over here, and pots and pans are in the cupboard under the sink.

[Lea gestured to the kitchenette as she came inside.]

I really appreciate this. Normal cleaning I can handle, but I'm surprisingly out of practice at dealing with sudden fire damage, especially while also trying to deal with the little firebug that caused it.

[She stops to kick her shoes off just inside the door, then proceeds to rummage out a pot, dump the little bags' contents in---there's cinnamon there, and cloves, and a couple of orange peels---splash some water on, and start it on the stove.]

Hmm... probably the rug. Or more accurately, what's left of the rug.

[He indicates a largish piece of charred fabric on the floor. I there are numerous small holes burnt in it and most of the rug is charred to the point where it's impossible to tell the original color.]

That's what got the worst of it, I think.

I thought it might be. And no I wasn't; I saw a few other rugs at the warehouse; I'll grab one next time I'm over there.

One of the best tricks from my misspent youth. Doesn't look like much, but it makes a big difference, doesn't it?

[Have an amused grin.] Do you have a bathtub? That is generally a safe place to keep a fire elemental. No water running of course, though leaving a bit at the bottom could provide it some entertainment while you clean up the place.

Matter of fact I do. I actually thought of that, but I wasn't sure if I could trust him not to climb out while I was busy. I might try it though, if you think it'll work.

I can imagine... Same story most everywhere I've lived, too. Especially Edmonton; big city, most of the buildings pretty closely packed.
