[Have a tiny Minicon, staring at the feed as if he isn't really sure of... something.]

I have been thinking, and something has been unclear to me. I cannot be the first to have considered the possibility, so I hope someone out there will help me to understand.

[He shifts with the drone in his hands, sending the background reeling for a moment before he sits himself up where he is.]

It seems common that we come from different worlds, but most of us seem to come from a Cybertron. We have different frame designs, different memories. That has been explained as a sort of parallel universe; I can see that. What I wish to know is if anyone here knows that at least one other person has come from their own world, their own universe's history.

[He hesitates, because it's been a long shot, but this next question is what he really meant to ask. He knows it's terrible to hope, and even if he isn't ready to leave this place, he needs to know that it could be possible.]

More importantly, if you do, do you remember a time when they disappeared from your world without any reason or explanation?

You do not have people back home you care for?

I apologize for the confusion. I do care for Master Drift and Slipstream. Only, I do not know that I would refer to them as loved ones. Love is a powerful emotion, and Master Drift would not approve in any case.

Not approve of love?!

You're right to say that love is a powerful emotion, but it is also one that is essential to a happy existence. How can one ever hope to be the best they can be if they do not allow themselves to love?

[He... Wait, what?]

I have been happy, learning from my Master. [Little liar.] But I do not love him.

[Okay, he thinks there may be a misunderstanding.]

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to imply that one of those you left behind was your conjunx endura.

There are different levels of love, friend. Do you care for those back home? Worry for them? Consider them friends? That is just one kind of love.

Do you care for your Master? Respect him? That too is another kind of love.

Do you strive to help others, even if they’re strangers? That too is a form of love.

[And if you answer “no” to any of that...especially he first two, then his spark just may break for you...]

[You'll have to excuse him. He is now so perplexed. So many things he'd never considered before, but if he gives himself a moment to think about it, it makes sense, in a way.]

I... do. But how am I to know if it is love or something else?

[He smiles, a hand to his chest.]

Love is what gives us the capacity to care about others, to make friends, and build relationships with those around us. Love is what inspires us to be the best we can be, to do what's right even when it's hard, and to help those in need.

[Wing...you're preaching again...]

[He blinks. Looks down at his hands.]

It... does not feel like love at all, but I admit I do not know how it feels to know. I was sure it was a sense of right from wrong, compassion and honor.

And in that you would be correct, but what sets the standards for right and wrong, compassion and honor? Love encompasses many emotions, and the basis for our morals and what is good is governed by love.

You must understand, love isn't just a feeling, it's an action, it's something you do. It's what motivates us to do right, even when doing so is the harder option.

[Wing, you're such a hippie.]

[He understands. He really does. But he's so confused now. His Master did not approve of such powerful emotional ties as love, since it was a distraction. But with what Wing is telling him, he has been loving all along. What was right in all of this?]

You must come from a benevolent people.

[And Wing would both agree and disagree with Jetstorm's Drift on that. He's complicated.]

I come from the same people as you do, my friend. I just choose to live a benevolent life. Helping someone in need is the highest calling we can aspire to.

[Well here he goes, rethinking his life choices. Not that he had much choice in the matter past a point. But he's curious, always, if not confused.]

I suppose. Did your world not know war?

[Expression is sad.] My world knew war...four million years of it. It’s only recently ended.

[Oh please don't sad at him. He's seen the end of the war and it was rough, but it's working.] I am sorry. This is good news though, is it not? You can... [Wait, rephrase that.] Rather, your world can begin to rebuild itself.

It is both good and infinitely sad. There were many, many lives needlessly lost in a war that could have ended millions of years before it did. [This makes him sad.]

[There's a part of him that understands what that means, but he hasn't seen the full measure of it to really know. It's not anything that he really wants to know.]

I am sorry. If I could have done anything about it, I would have.

[He smiles.] There is nothing for you to be sorry for. I'm glad the war is over, in my world and yours.

[He nods and curls his fingers a little around his drone.]

As am I. I was not alive to see it, but I suppose that makes me fortunate, seeing how Cybertron was afterward.

I hope war is something never again known in your time, Jetstorm. It’s a terrible thing, and does terrible things to the people involved, and I don’t mean to those who die.

[Oh, he knows. Might not think it at his age, but he knows. He's seen things.]

I agree. I was told that the ones who lost their lives were the lucky ones. We do not seem to be heading toward war again, but I... [That grip tightens a little. He's worried and he knows it and he's not sure where it's all coming from this time.] do not know what that looks like. Master did not seem to be worried, but here, there is the Miasma.

Mnn, trust me, Jetstorm, you’d know... [It’s hard to miss the political unrest the comes before a great war. Unless you’re just not paying attention...]

[He nods.] The Miasma, or rather the cause of it, is a real concern. One we need to do our best to be prepared for. We’ve won once, we can do it again.

[He's a little confused, but he's really not, because he's seen that already. Back home. And yeah. No bueno.]

I would like to avoid it, war and the Miasma. If it is anything like the Great War, I... [He wants to say he isn't sure he'll survive it, but he shouldn't. And he won't.] I will do what I can.

I wish I could assure you that you could. Unfortunately I believe it's only a matter of time before we'll have to face this evil again.

Do not be discouraged, Jetstorm. We beat him last time, we can and will again.

[He just nods. There's not much he can really say to that.]

[His smile is a gentle one.] Try not to worry over it, Jetstorm...I believe that day will be a long time coming.
