[The feed cuts in mid-shriek, Sam’s drone apparently having interpreted the start of the sound as its cue to begin broadcasting. It shows the adept pushing herself to her feet, having been knocked to her hands and knees by---what? Water. She’s drenched to dripping, and the street she stands on is wet for several metres all around.]

Calvaire de crisse...!

[It’s no more than a mutter as she straightens and immediately starts for the shelter of the closest building, casting an anxious glance up as she goes. She’s through a doorway in a matter of moments due to making haste, and relaxes---marginally---as she moves further away from the entrance.]

Well, it really popularized this idea that water will melt witches and I am pretty sure that that was the point here.

[Sam blows a slow breath out, taking the clip from her hair. The ponytail it's in falls with a soggy spat; she starts to wring it out, scowling.]

Adding insult to injury? A melted witch may not actually be entirely dead. 'Probably-but-not-fully-for-sure' murderous intent does not mollify me, because some 'I have no mouth and I must scream' situation is not a significant step up from jack shit.

And probably to the end of disposing of me without leaving any evidence, since various sources state water doesn't agree with witches, and its melting witches has been popularized in pop culture. That had to be what he was aiming for, since doing it just to make me miserable would have been... pretty pointless and kind of dumb.

All signs point to yes. [She flicks her hands up in angry emphasis.] I haven't had any trouble with anyone else, and the ambiguity of whether or not a witch might survive melting could have been something he meant to exploit---he gave his word that he wouldn't kill me, and is probably just twisted enough to see the technicality as a way to preserve the worth of his word.

Whatever the rationale was, he's going to regret it.

[A few minutes later, a teal-green jet banks around and lands in the street. Once safely on the ground, its seams part and it transforms into robot mode. Dirge kneels down and peers at the drying puddle curiously.

He definitely did not miss- sensors confirmed direct hit on the target. Guess it didn't work. Or maybe it took effect more slowly?]
