[Dirge seems to be holding the drone like a selfie cam, even though its perfectly capable of floating at any angle on its own. He seems to be too excited to remember that.]

Today is a very good day. I knew following the light colors would lead me to something shiny.

[He turns the drone to the left revealing what looks like an honest to goodness pot o' gold.]

Yes, it is gold. And yes, its all mine. I've heard humans place high value on this particular ore. I can understand why- not only is it very pretty, but it tastes great. [Yup, he's been eating it. Maybe that's why his tongue is all sparkly?]

The gold isn't the only thing I found though... [Dirge's grin grows wide as he finally lets go of the drone, allowing it to float back a bit.]

There was also a strange little organic. Smaller than adult humans. Spoke funny. I was going to keep him but he offered me something if I let him go.

[Dirge lifts his arms in a shrugging motion and two more unfold from behind his back. He seems incredibly pleased with them.]

A wish! I've always thought having more arms would make everything easier- grab twice the stuff, put things away twice as fast, hold two times more things at once. Not to mention, two times the claws.

[He flexes them all to demonstrate-- twenty wicked teal knives are nothing to sneer at.]

Time to try these out in the warehouse~

Well of...anything. Can you even change with them now?

[This humanoid sure turns red a lot. Wonder what that means.]

Oh. Yes, I can. They just kind of...dangle in jet mode though. [It looks really silly. He hasn't tried flying with them yet either.]

But watch this! [He grabs a few chunks of gold in each hand and performs a rather impressive four armed juggling act.]

Neat, huh?

[W-well...you keep saying things like that about her, she doesn’t know what to make of them!]

[She makes a face.] They don’t get in the way?

[Oooo, but the juggling makes her perk.] Oooo, okay, that was really neat.

Not of my transformation seams. Someone mentioned they might be an air drag though. [Maybe he can sorta tape them up or something.]

Right? I can't wait to go use them in the warehouse. I wonder if there are more gold objects on there. Why did nobody ever tell me how delicious it was?

You know...my Papa used to tell me I should eat only a few treats, they could make me sick if I ate too much at once.

[Because clearly gold is like candy.]

And I'm not surprised. You're so small, your tank must be incredibly tiny! I doubt it could hold much of anything really.

My Papa. He's the one who takes care of me.

[Or did...before coming here...]

And maybe not to you, but I don't think that's why he said it.

You had someone to take care of you? That's not fair. All I had was a 'boss'.

Well, why else did he say it then?

...You need a Papa.

[That would fix you, right?]

Because too much of something isn't good for you. You need other stuff, stuff that's better for you. You should only have a little bit of a treat.

Where do I get one?

[Was there a section in the warehouse for that?]

Bah, I'll be fine! Besides, I just can't resist~

[She shrugs] You have to find someone that’s willing to take care of you. And you have to do what they say because they’d only tell you to do what’s best for you.

[Unfortunately no...Wing might be a good stand in, though.]

[She shakes her head.] Then you shouldn’t complain if you end up with a tummy ache later from eating too much.

That...is an interesting contract. Unquestioning obedience for care? [Taps his chin.]

[Shrug] It's usually how I can tell I can't eat anymore anyhow.

Why would you want to eat until your tummy hurts?

If I stopped before it hurt then there'd still be space left for more! Why would I eat less than I could hold?

But it hurts because you already put more in that you should. Why would you want to hurt?

[Probably because they have about the same level of maturity in some ways.]

Not 'more than I should'- all I can hold. [He explains.]

Perhaps you don't. You have the one thing I cannot get. [Everyone seems to be capable of it except him.]

[That could be it.]

[And she's about to argue more until the last. She stops and gives him a curious look.]

And...what's that?

Satisfaction. It's pretty much the opposite of what I am. Being happy with what you have? I can't even really imagine what that feels like.

This is the closest I can get, I think. Not being hungry for a while. I like that part.

[That...actually makes her feel really sorry for him.] You...you can never feel satisfied? Is that why you’re always trying to...own everything. [Including her...]

Well... yes. Having things makes me feel good for a little while at least. But its never enough, really.

[He shrugs, shaking his head.] We all came out like this. Though some of us have it worse than others.

[You poor thing, now she wants to do something to make him happy, even if she can’t help him feel satisfied.]

Why is that? I...don’t understand?

It's because we're clones. We each only got one part of our template's personality.

But I intend to have a full personality one day. If I can figure out how.

[That earns him another funny look.] I dunno. You seem to have lots of personality. [You’re rather single-minded in your greed, but...] Maybe you do have a full personality, you just don’t know it yet....?

...I do? [He looks surprised, wings lifting a little.]

Do you really think so? I mean...wouldn't I know if I was... better?

I think so.

[She shrugs.] Not necessarily. [Kids saying big words are cute.]
