Sam human, I have located two of the data p- books, on your list of wishes.

[He opens his palm revealing a worn copy of The Diary of Anne Frank and a newer looking copy of The Colour Purple. He has since stopped damaging his drone, so the picture is clear again.]

Also, this is to let everyone know I'm moving into the warehouse. Everything in there is mine now. Take anything and I will know.

[Oh hey, its his first friend. He really should work on collecting more of those.]

Merely saving myself the trouble of having to take all my new possessions elsewhere.

You know... that's supposed to be a place for everyone to go when they need something.

[He smiles] I'm safe. Are you safe?

They will have to go elsewhere now, won't they? [Grin]

Good. Then my side of the bargain is still fulfilled.

And I'm fine. [Not that he expects Wing to protect him or anything- Wing is /his/ friend, yes, but he does not belong to Wing. Dirge refuses to belong to anyone, as a friend, or otherwise.]

[He just shakes his head] Just don't hurt anyone, okay?

You can't make friends with someone if you hurt them first.

Why would I intentionally damage a possession?

[He just shakes his head] I can't imagine why. I was just...looking out for you.

[Dear Primus this guy is glitched. Ah well, so long as Wing can play damage control and keep people from getting hurt...]

Ah. Well, you don't have to. I understand this friendship thing now.

And I think I will make the Sam human my friend as well.

Once a friend is acquired one must protect them from harm and help them. Isn't that right?

[nod] Good start. What would you do if helping a friend required giving them something? [he has to know]

Possible. Would depend on what kind of help they needed.

[Because he's wanting to know more about Dirge, and this will tell him a lot.]

...If what they need is less valuable then having them as a friend.

Someone's life is priceless and irreplacable, Dirge.

[He mulls this over for a few moments. It is true, a life cannot be replaced once snuffed out. Well, besides a few special exceptions. But did that matter unless that life belonged to him or could serve him in some way? After all, his own life was the most precious, was it not?]

If it was to save the life of a friend that belonged to me then. I would.

[Well...it's progress. He nods approvingly.]

It is good to take care of your friends.
