[Guess who's been buried to the vocal indicator flanges with work for the past month.  The city's Chief Engineer has been working with his fellow Guardians to investigate what the hell Galos was up to - and how it got past them to even suspect what was really happening - and how to prevent it in the future.  And...other things, but he'd have to be specifically asked about that, because OY so not fun.  Plus overseeing the rebuild of the apartments and other structures that were damaged in that blast a while back and replacing victims' comm drones and other service drones.  He's been one busy mechanic.]

[And it's a little audible in his voice when he finally shows himself on the network.  But at least he waited till he'd gotten two full rest-cycles to recover before doing this?]

'Afternoon, Haven.  In case anyone doesn't know me, my name's Wheeljack.  I'm one'a the Guardians of the city as well as the Chief Engineer.  An' before anyone says it . . . no, just because I touch it doesn't mean it'll blow up.  That's just my experimental stuff.  Anyway, my shop's been closed for some time - for obvious reasons - but I'm lettin' people know now that I'm open again.  Most repair work can be handled by the Mr. Fix-It shop on the other side of the Hub, but if they send ya my way, I can take it now.  Also if you've got mods or other ideas you'd like ta have built, come see me an' we'll talk.  No guarantees I'll do it, as always, but we can talk.

[One of his issues in Haven before was not knowing the First Forged, not being able to talk to them and know the patron he was supposedly under the protection of. He fully intends to get to know the Guardians of the city this time around.]

[There's a faint flinch in his optics – yep, he remembers you, you and Thundercracker seemed to be together – but he pushes it aside.]

Mods, huh? Sure, c'mon by whenever you're free, an' I'll see what I can do.

[Then he gets a bit closer look at the mech. Wait…he thinks he remembers that face. Mech'd been among those who came up from Galos's little funhouse. There's an impression of a concerned frown in the light of his optics and the tilt of his head.]

Elsa, right? Hey! [Yep, he remembers you. He's been kind of worried, to be honest.]

Not at all. Whatcha need?

Ya flatter me. [His tone is flat but wry – he's been called far worse. Besides, he's dealt with your type before. /He/ thinks so, anyway.] But yeah, I can help ya get set up. No explodin' city blocks, deal?

[With a little luck and a great appreciation of the directions she's got, Sam does arrive in a reasonable amount of time. She doesn't hesitate to enter the shop, but she does stop just inside the doorway---better than being rude and just barging on in]

[Eh, that's all right - the door is mostly just to warn him when people have entered . . . for THEIR sakes, in case he's got something dangerous going on.]

[The interior of the shop is about what one might expect from a genius mechanical tinkerer - there are boxes and sundry bits-n-bobs all over various shelves, a few tables, even the floor. The old engineer himself is at a work station over to left. At the sound of the door, he straightens from the project he's been bent over, looking around...then down.]

[If Sam's yet to meet a Cybertronian in person, she might be in for a bit of a shock. While on the smallish side for his kind - without being a Minibot or Cassetticon or the like - he's still a good sixteen feet tall.]

Sam! Hey, welcome.

[He steps away from his workbench, wiping his hands on a rag that could have been someone's bedspread at one time, and crosses to crouch in front of her and offer a . . . well, a fingertip in lieu of his whole hand.]

Pleased ta meetcha. In person, I mean.

[While she's fortunately met a few Cybertronians face to face, Sam isn't yet entirely accustomed to being among giants... and probably won't be for a while. It's just strange, seeing someone on-screen in surroundings to scale, and then seeing how huge they actually are. Still, she spends just a second taking in the engineer, and readily cups a hand over the offered fingertip to approximate a shake, smiling.]
