Hey. [Sam grins at her drone---and thus, Haven in general---as she strides (a bit unevenly, as always) down the hall her apartment is in.] If we've talked a lot, or you've done me a favour, I need to know where you are, cause I've got something to give you. If you're at home? Great. If not? Say something, don't make me hunt. I got too much ground to cover today.

[Bwip! goes the feed, and, eventually, the knock comes at Lea's door.]
[Action]
Hey, Sam. Merry Christmas!
[He steps aside, gesturing for her to enter.]
C'mon in.
[Action]
[She steps back and over to Bon Ron, who has been patiently waiting a few feet from the door. Despite the fairly haphazard way gifts have been bundled about the moosebot's antlers, it takes only a little fussing to free two modest boxes. They've both been wrapped in tin foil for want of wrapping paper, but it shoulder be silver enough Burl Ives'd approve.]
Righto, this square one is yours.
Re: [Action]
[After a moment's glance out into the hall at the moosebot- thank goodness for large hallways- Lea accepts both boxes, putting Jendayi's under the little tree he'd found.]
Can I go ahead and open it now? Or would you rather I wait?
[Action]
[Once the foil's peeled away, the box---being original---will reveal Lea's present: a chia pet porcupine, meant to grow lemongrass in the bowl of its body.]
Re: [Action]
I'm guessing my hair had something to do with the choice?
[He gives one of the spikes of his red hair a joking little tug.]
[Action]
Actually, it was thinking 'doesn't lemongrass go in a lot of "hot and sour" stuff?' I don't know how well you like stuff that's hot and sour instead of just hot, but it seemed like something you might get some use out of, and at any rate, you can enjoy having one household pet you know won't get into any trouble.
Re: [Action]
And Firebug's been behaving himself, thankfully, but the thought is appreciated.
[He sets the chia pet down on the table.]
Hang on a minute and I'll go get yours.
[action]
[She nods.]
I can hang a minute, or for five. I'm making better time than I thought I would today, and besides, I can book it on Bon Ron.
Re: [action]
On what?
[He emerges a moment later with a small object wrapped in what looks like a scrap of Christmasy-colored fabric and tied up with string.]
I couldn't find any paper either, but I did find a random bolt of tacky, red and green cloth. Which is actually pretty good for this since it's a little fragile.
[He hands Sam her gift, and when she unwraps it she'll find a beautiful, rainbow-colored suncatcher.]
[action]
[She shrugs at Lea as he returns, all earnest. 'Ronald Underwood' had been almost as much as a blindside as the moose itself, but once the name was out the only thing to do was damage control.]
[The gift gets some curious neck-craning until it's offered over. Sam takes it carefully, nodding to acknowledge the fragility of whatever it is she's just been given.]
Thank you. And it's not that tacky.
[But she'll leave it at that, not wanting to waste time discussing the cloth when she could be seeing what's within it. Upon opening the little parcel, the witch is wowed.]
Oh! My god, it's so pretty!
Re: [action]
[Far as he knew, it was a perfectly good name.
He watches as she unwraps her gift, then grins at her reaction.]
Glad you like it. Took me awhile to get it put together and get it to refract light the way I wanted it to.
Consider it a thank you for being an actual adult human being around here that I can talk to about stuff.
[action]
[Sam grins, looking up from the suncatcher only briefly.]
I like it a lot. You oughtta know, also, that that feeling's mutual, and you can talk to me about whatever, whenever. Being as we're in the same boat---broadly speaking, and also with suddenly having kids in our care---and all, I think it's important.
Re: [action]
[action]
[Sam then shrugs, cupping the sun catcher carefully with one hand to offer the other out: shake on it? Mid-shake (assuming it's accepted) she'll decide a handshake's not quite cutting it, and move in for a brief one-armed hug. C'mere, bro.]
Thanks again. The minute I get home, your gift's going up.
Re: [action]
Ah. Yeah, 'surreal' definitely covers it.
[The handshake is gladly accepted, though he's surprised by the hug for a moment before returning it.]
Good. Hope it brightens up your place.

Re: [action]
Not surprising. I shoulda said, place looks good. Guess I was too focused on presents. [She shrugs.] Given what's left to be given, I'm going to go ahead and peace on out.
