Having now completed a couple years of it, I'm now pretty sure everyone under a hundred is improvising this 'real adult' stuff. And as for the rest of you? [She grins a crooked little grin, pointing at the camera with a cherry stem.] I've got some suspicions still.

[The broadcast would end there---and does, briefly---but the network's treated to Hiro hijacking Sam's drone to properly inform other Haveners.]

Hey, so, uh, what Sam means is that it's her birthday and she's just being cryptic. So, y'know. Don't let her forget it.

She looks down at it another moment, then grabs another color. “It needs hair.”

"A mohawk, maybe? Better yet, three mohawks! Not that I expect you to know the style by that name, but..." Ever helpful, Sam held her hands up atop her head to give Jendayi an idea.

She gives same a curious smile. "What is that?" She...thinks she maybe gets it, but isn't entirely sure. How about you show her, Sam?

"It's a haircut where you've got a strip of hair, with the rest cut shorter or shaved, and the strip teased so as to stand up. A little liiiike..." As she drew out the word, Sam plucked a piece of chalk from the box she'd brought it in, and turned to her tracing. "From the front it's just like that---a line, not a lot to look at---but some people manage to get theirs impressively high, and a lot like to dye theirs with bright colours, or stripes, or both. Some go rainbow."

She laughs. "That's just silly. What do people do with so little hair?"
