[Another day, another drone activating to record someone without their knowledge. It takes a moment for it to focus in on said unsuspecting victim, but when it does? There’s a Cybertronian sitting slumped against a battered looking bridge in the East. A Cybertronian that likely looks familiar, what with the long arms, oddly jointed legs and blank screen where a face should be. But the paint job is a dark blue, almost black in places, with purple biolights covering the torso.]

[Soundwave doesn’t appear to be moving though. And with no visible face it’s hard to tell if he’s just recharging or knocked out or… well…]

[He might not have been able to interact with anything in the Shadowzone, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t using up fuel. Shortly after he’d heard Megatron’s death, the Autobots rounding up all the remaining Decepticons on the ship, and seen the restoration of Cybertron, Soundwave had forced himself into recharge. He… needed to figure out what his next move was going to be and for that he needed a clear mind. Watching everything he had worked for suddenly falling apart wasn’t conducive to being able to think through a problem logically.]

[Luckily for anyone who was worried, when the drone gets bored of recording a motionless body, it moves closer to perch on Soundwave’s leg and he jerks, creepy long fingers grabbing the poor thing before the feed cuts.]

[No it looks like an organic child picked all the colors. It's terrible.]

[He does hear all the ramblings coming out of this... other version of himself's vocoder, but honestly it's already giving him a headache. Why was he talking so much? Even back when he did speak, he didn't do it that much.]

[Soundwave is completely unsurprised that anyone else here who knew him would say that, but that's about the least of his concerns right now. Which is why he's completely ignoring everything that came out of... Soundwave's mouth.]

So you are kinda a huge gross unfun loser. Do you really not talk at all? How do you like... do your job and not talk? How do you tell people to do stuff? Do you know ASL? Or is it all just recordings? I mean I could talk in recordings but I don't know why I'd even do that, it seems kinda dumb.

Okay okay so like, do you know the membrane theory? Multiple universes separated by a thin skin and like, we're super close but we can never break through? Well we totally broke through and it's on little baby Cybertron.

Really weird. I mean like I recorded some human shows about it and stuff, but it's a lot better in Cybertronian, not gonna lie.

[He's getting a sinking suspicion that death would have been better than this. He doesn't really care much what others think of him, but someone implying he's inadequate at his job makes him bristle. Running one's mouth was more of a problem when trying to spy on Autobots or being trusted with classified Decepticon information. He cues up Megatron's voice to answer simply:]

[AKA screw you. At least the other does answer his question, even if it seemed completely impossible. Ugh. So this... was somehow him, but from some weird universe. Unless Megatron was the exact opposite of his normal self too, he's not sure how this Soundwave survived.]

[Soundwave vents, pushing himself up despite some rather painful protest from his joints. If that's true, he'll need to confirm it. Scouting the area should lead to more answers, along with some possible sources of energon...]

[YEAH DO YOU GET WHY HE'S UPSET. HE'S MAD HE WANTS TO BE GOOD TOO. Also he can play that back too, so Soundwave digs up his own recording of Megatron]

[Warmer and smoother, but it is still Megatron's voice.]

Yeah like I said I can totally do that too. So like, woo not impressive. And I'm totally not lying, it's true. There's a bunch of people here from a whole bunch of other worlds.

[Fair enough. But the real question is has anyone actually flat out said the younger bot was bad at his job, where Soundwave literally just insulted his work. Besides if he can do his job well without talking he's clearly better at it.]

[The clip makes him pause. Not because it's a surprise that the other has similar abilities, but the very different tone of a familiar voice... That probably did mean Megatron was some weird opposite version of himself. Though it did remind him a little of a very, very long time ago, when Megatron was still 'Megatronus'.]

[No point in dwelling on it.]

[Again, he isn't bothered by the jab. He just cues up a map on his face, dots blinking at the location of other Cybertronians and energon signatures. There's a lot a bunch of other people here, sure. And he's also fairly positive he doesn't hate himself enough to hallucinate this opposite of him, but there's always a need to confirm information with his own optics.]

[Soundwave is both defensive and young. He's not right, but he does think that's what people have been telling him.

Being a kid is a hell of a drug]

Huh? Yeah there's a ton of people here, I guess, there's a whole city too, can't be that hard to find I mean, I got coordinates if you need them...

[It clearly is. He hasn't actually been around anyone who seemed so young in a long time. It would make him feel old if not for the fact he was so annoying.]

[But he's also not the type to turn down information.]
