Hey guys! I've been working on modding drones! Like... like a lot of drones. Wheeljack actually isn't like... you know... really totally terrifying or anything, and he let me have some stuff to use and it's great!

Here's one I made just yesterday-

[And he shows... a sweet looking steam punk modded drone, gears and copper parts and all]

Pretty wild, right? I can do all sorts of skins, if you bring me a drone. I'll make it look just how you want! Personalized drones! So uh... yeah bring me stuff you want me to work on! You don't have to give me anything for it or anything, I just really need something to do with my hands, or I get twitchy, I guess....

Oh! uh, Wing! Are you doing anything tonight? Like do you wanna go out and do something? I mean not like out out... out.... Like a date out just... Okay no we're just friends out, doing friends stuff. Not dating.

Just like a drink or something.

[It really is only a little bit before there's engine noise in the hall, and a knock low at the apartment door---accomodations sized for Cybertronians made driving around inside inviting, even if it was something Sam typically tried to avoid.]

[The door pops wide open. It looks like a nerdy bachelor pad paradise in there, parts everywhere, data pads everywhere, screens everywhere, some of them look like they were playing games, some of them were shows. Soundwave is over by a work table, drone parts scattered out in front of him]

Sam! Hey, glad you could make it!

[Content to leave the stree'doo at the entrance for the time being, Sam starts into the apartment, openly checking it out; it's a little like Hiro's room scaled up, and mercifully free of forgotten snack food. Soundwave's cheerful greeting gets her grinning, and she saunters on over.]

Thanks for having me over! How's it going?

Everything's fine. You know, the usual.

[There are empty energon cubes here and there, but it's not like they make that much of a mess]

How's everything with you?

[Or attract mice, which is one distinct advantage energon has over the sort of stuff Hiro leaves lying around. So far, the Patchowski/Hamada digs are infestation-free, but lbr it's probably only because the place is warded.]

Things are pretty good. A little weird, even now---how could they not be?---but I've been keeping busy, and spending a lot of time at the library as of late.

[Well there may be a stray petrorabbit around here somewhere, but that might actually be a pet]

There's a library? Huh... Is it big enough for me?

Oh yeah! First serious stint hitting it up, actually, I went with Drift. It wasn't as fruitful as we would've liked, but that was nothing to do with the selection and everything to do with the subject we were trying to research.

I haven't met Drift yet... is he nice? I guess I really gotta get around to meeting him, since he's so close to Wing and all.

He is! I didn't get around to meeting him for the longest time; don't make my mistake.

I guess that means I have to meet him too, huh? Hope he likes me...

Well, you don't have to have to---you're how old, you're your own person---but you probably should. And he should; I don't see why he wouldn't!

[She spreads her hands, shrugging up Soundwave. It's an honest assertion.]

If you'd like, I could introduce you? We said we'd have to hang out some more and it would mean less first-impression pressure. Least I could do, after asking favours of you. I'm happy to help with anything some smaller hands might be suited to, but feel like that's not enough to be fair.

Uh... a little over five million earth years, I think? Your time measurements are really weird.

That'd be awesome! Yeah okay. Because like... I know and like Wing a lot, so like... I need to meet his SO, right?

That brings up another favour I'd like to ask, if I'm not getting obnoxious. Would you please explain to me some Cybertronian measurements of time? Just so I have something to toss out for 'equivalent to,' when talking to people who've never been on Earth.

Great! And yeah, yeah; it's the sort of thing you should do, so I'd be happy to facilitate.

Well, a megacycle is a day, a decacycle is a year, an orn is thirteen earth days, a stellar cycle is abooouuuut... seven and a half earth months, a meta-cycle is about thirteen earth months, and a vorn is eighty three earth years.

I felt like such an ass when I was talking to Subzero and it clicked that I hadn't looked into Cybertronian time measurements, just been spoiled by most people knowing months and Earth years.

Yeah it's kinda like that. At least you'll know what we're talking about now! But yeah I'm a lot of vorns.

It's very much appreciated and man I feel like such a young punk now.

While we're on the topic of time, is there any time you'd like to meet Drift, or is it a case of 'not too busy, whenever is good?'

Oh any time is fine, I'm... y'know not really that busy or anything.

Cool. We've been meaning to set aside some time to swap stories, but the when and where is all by ear, so whenever it happens? I'll let you know. Should be good, and besides; I don't have so many stories to tell, making the introduction probably my most interesting contribution to the talk.

Well I don't have a lot either so uh... I hope Drift has some.

That makes me feel better about my dearth of stories worth sharing... and from the sounds of things, he has a lot.

And well-traveled. That'd help. I'd say 'I wish I could say the same,' but there's this whole 'suddenly, Cybertron' business; got everybody I used to know beat.

[She shrugs, crossing her arms with an amused little huff. Dealing with the situation by making light of it has seemed to be the best option from the first day, so she's stickin' with it.]
