Now, I know enough about science to know where I'm not - Not the moon though these craters beg to tell me differently, [she muttered with a glance at the creator filled South Eastern Sector.]

Anyone wanna help a Girl figure out what rock I just landed on? This sure as hell isn't a rock that I know of and I'm well versed in... Ok, not space science. Right now, I'm well versed in confusion...

[She tugged idly at her tertiary ear piecing in thought.]

Four-- [Whoa. Whoa. Devi stared up at him stuck somewhere between an expression of confusion and awe.]

Four Million??

[Normally, it was kind of hard to shock Devi. Especially with age numbers but Wing has successfully blown her out of the water.]

Jezzus, I'm.. fuckin' infantile in comparison.

[He glanced down at her.] Oh?

[He's never asked a human how long they tend to live. This will sadden him greatly when he learns of it.]

I'm only.. [She honestly didn't know how old she was anymore, with the jumping she'd done, but she could take a stab at it.].. at the end of my second decade. Hell, most of us only live to about 90.

So.. yeah.. Infantile. Four Million years, really?

[She didn't understand how that was even possible and she was a forward thinking lady.]

[His optics flash in shock.] Second...decade?

[His shoulder pauldrons droop a bit at this news.] I...never realized humans lived such a short time.

[That makes their lives so much more precious to him, something beautiful to be preserved and protected.]

I’ve not, really. I’ve been in Haven for about two years, and in this time in Haven for almost a year I think. The ages of the organic based people around me hadn’t even come up.

Eh, it happens. Either way, 80 years is long for us, so the day to day time has a little more stretch.

[She turned back around again, to watch the moving landscape.]

Gotta say, I could get use to travel like this. You give a good view of the place, Wing.

[The change of subject brings a smile back, helping him to push his concerns away for now.]

[He steps up to a large, round...contraption. Ever seen Stargate?] Ah, here we are. This is one of the Gateways. There's all over Haven and can quickly get you anywhere you need to go. Each Gateway has a number. For now the two you'll want to remember are Gateways one and two. One will take you to just outside the Hospital, and two will take you just outside of The Hub, it's a central area where you'll be able to find food and any other essentials you'll need, including a place to stay.

[Devi smiled crookedly up at him before focusing on the gateway that was coming up on them.]

Well food and shelter are always good things to have...

.. Where else do they go though? How many gateways are there? And, more importantly, me stepping into this.. a malfunction isn't going to cut me in half or something, right? There are like.. safeguards? Sorry, I've seen a lot of bad sci fi movies.

[Because you'd better believe she will hike her ass wherever she needs to go instead of using it, if there's a chance.]

[If she were talking to Breakdown, he’d probably reference The Fly, just as Sam had, but Wing is, unfortunately, unfamiliar with such movies.]

It’s perfectly safe, even for organics. I wouldn’t be taking you through if I wasn’t completely sure that you’d be safe.

As far as other Gateways, over a hundred around the city.

So this place is really just that fucking large, huh? I think I'll take the scenic route though, admire the landscape at least once before I start using Gateways. After all, something interesting might be in the middle of here and there.

[Have a lopsided grin.] I've spoken with the one who designed them. They've transported many humans back in his home world, and here. If they weren't safe, we'd know by now.

And...I guess so, especially to humans I'd think. I can fly across what we can access in about...an hour and a half I believe. Give or take a little. [Which would equate to about a 7-1/2 hour drive at freeway speeds.]

[He does, however, turn away from the Gateway once he's shown her how to use it. Scenic route is good for him too.]

[She was grinning and nodded with an impressed look. It was something she'd test on her own, but, it was good to know casual cruising speeds.]

[Devi is an astute listener and she pays close attention to the instruction as it's given. Once they headed onward, she had more questions.]

Explore. Help keep the peace. Spar with my partner or my student. [And prepare for war, but that’s a bit heavy to drop on someone so soon.]

Ok is your student bigger then you and are you talking about actually sparring or is that a trap for some VR science training tech?

[Because really, either way... she'd be down.]

[He seems amused.] My student is taller than me [but not as wide....] my partner is about the same size I am.

And I mean sparring, no VR tech. [That’s a real sword on his back.]

[She tried to keep her surprise to herself but it coiled and bubbled into an amazed little burst of a laugh.]

Is that something else you offer everyone? What makes you think someone my size could spar with you?

[It still wasn't a no, but she was putting out feelers for other people that might be like her in some way. People with power.]

Not many, actually. Drift was a...special case, and Soundwave has weapons he doesn't know how to use. I offered to teach him so he doesn't end up hurting himself with them.

[Sorry, Devi, he knows organic life forms are fragile, if you want a sparring partner in him you'll have to prove you're different.]

[Ah, might as well. Still wearing her carefree grin, Devi tapped into her ki, which flared around her form with a faint purple ethereal looking flame. She wasn't sure if Wing would be able to see that, but he would definitely be able to see the fact that she was levitating herself a good 6 feet above the palm plates of his hand.]

I'm not exactly without my own talents.

[Okay, he’s stopped walking now, and is quite openly staring at her. He can definitely read the strange energy, though he doesn’t “see” it like others might. He finds himself studying her, looking for some device she’s using to fly like that....and he’s not spotting any.]

That’s quite amazing. I was not aware of an organic life forms with such an ability.

[He’s still not sure about sparing with you. You are small and look rather squishy to him...]
