[A slightly dirty purple haired girl pops up on the feed, peering with sharp green eyes into the camera.]

This thing on? [There was an affirmative beep and she nodded, still looking wholly suspicious.]

Now, I know enough about science to know where I'm not - Not the moon though these craters beg to tell me differently, [she muttered with a glance at the creator filled South Eastern Sector.]

Anyone wanna help a Girl figure out what rock I just landed on? This sure as hell isn't a rock that I know of and I'm well versed in... Ok, not space science. Right now, I'm well versed in confusion...

[She tugged idly at her tertiary ear piecing in thought.]

Is it far? I don't want to say yes and then find out that it's over the next rise and I'm the jackass that couldn't walk it.

[He chuckles.] The answer is both yes and no on that one. It looks like you're out from the inhabited areas a ways, and getting to the city proper could take you quite a while if you decide to walk. However, if you head to a Gateway it could be a rather quick trip.

Really, it's entirely up to you. I wouldn't mind coming out to meet you, or I can stay on the line until you reach a Gateway and give you instructions on how to make it work.

A gateway? [She looked out to her left like she could see it with a thoughtful 'huh'.]

If you don't mind coming out, I'm not going to say no to a free lift in. Since I'm not going anywhere, I guess I'll have plenty of time to figure out the gateways.

[He'll cut the feed and head out. It'll only be a few minutes for Devi before an odd, white aircraft can be seen and heard coming her way. It's shift in the air, changing shape into a human-ish robot figure. Wing lands lightly on his feet a fair distance away so as not to startle her too much...hopefully.]

[Shortly could mean five minutes or 30, so Devi set about investigating her immediate area. She wasn't worried in the slightest, though she was sure she should have been but she wasn't off guard. The sound of a plane stopped her and she stood in the center of the crater she'd woken up in, shielding her eyes from the light as she tried to pin down where the noise was coming from.

As Wing shifts, Devi takes two steps back with a muttered,] Shit.. [ and waits until he lands to start walking towards him.]

You're.. uh.. [she swallowed thickly] taller then I thought.

[She wasn't overly eager to climb up his leg, that was a lot of moving parts, but she wasn't shy or fearful.]

[Wing shifts to a knee so he's not looming quite so high over her.]

And on the smaller side of average for my kind. [Just ah...fair warning and all that. If you think he's big wait until you see some of the others around here. Aside from Jetstorm, Wing is one of the smallest here.]

[And she won't have to climb his leg. Unfortunately, though, he never did spend time on a planet like Earth so he doesn't have an alt that takes small, organic passengers. And so he does the next best that he can and offers her his hand.]

Looks like you could use a lift out of here. [If only he knew the truth. Ah well, at least he's being polite, hm?]

[His shift makes her pause in the forward movement, she was definitely going to have to get used to this scale difference and how every primal instinct in her is telling her to watch out and not get crushed.]

Really? You're.. you're not small. I heard once that size doesn't matter but.. I dunno if that translates here.. [She looked at the offered hand and then back up.]

No offense, I'm sure you've done this before and I don't want to look a gift.. horse.. in the mouth but, uh.. You.. were a plane? And.. I don't want to be the smear under your.. tailpipe. [She chewed her bottom lip for a second. She wasn't doing this as well as she'd like, sentences paused and drawn out as she tries to find the most suitable and inoffensive set of words.] How're we getting there if you're not in 'plane mode'?

[It's hard to unintentionally offend Wing, and that smile of his should make that clear.]

Unfortunately my alt isn't designed with passengers in mind. I have carried other humans before, and I give you my word that I'll be quite careful. As for getting to the city...I'll walk, and show you the nearest Gateway and how it works when we reach it.

[Having already been corrected once, Devi isn't inclined to make the same mistake with someone who could very well crush her.]

If you're sure... [She had to hoist herself up between the center of two of his fingers, but did so with a practiced grace and she walked into the center of his palm, facing him.]

[You'd have to do something deliberately evil for him to even consider trying to kill you. You're truly safe with him, Devi.]

[His fingers curl up around her like a railing, though he never even comes close to gripping her. His hand is cupped like she's standing in an oddly shaped basket. He's very careful when he shifts to stand, the hand she's in tucking to his chest, and his free hand coming up to cup around in front of her. Again, not touching or "gripping" her, just an added "wall" of protection from falling, high enough to (hopefully) feel secure while still low enough to let her see where they're going. And with that he'll start to walk, his gait smooth and sure.]

[The first upward movement makes Devi stumble slightly, but she found her ground and once his other hand comes down, Devi dares to walk forward, to better see through his fingers. The only worry she had was accidental crushing; he could drop her from this height and she'd be fine, though that's not information she's going to give out of the gate.]

That's nice of you. Sounds like you've been here a while, if you're helping multiple people out.

[She wasn't sure if he could hear her, all cupped in his hands, but she thought she'd give it a try anyway.]

[She will have absolutely no problem seeing where they're going. His hands are cupped under her, but not over her. It's like she's standing on a balcony, his fingers the waist-high railing.]

Not too long really, a little over a year. [Wing, over a year is "a while" to non-Cybertronians, okay?]

That's a small stretch of time... How old are you?

[Because damn, if that wasn't relative to how long a year was. If Cybrertronians lived for 300 plus years, a single year is a drop in the bucket.]

Around four million. [Answered so casually.] How old are you?

[Sam will probably regret not having this conversation with him first.]

Four-- [Whoa. Whoa. Devi stared up at him stuck somewhere between an expression of confusion and awe.]

[Normally, it was kind of hard to shock Devi. Especially with age numbers but Wing has successfully blown her out of the water.]

Jezzus, I'm.. fuckin' infantile in comparison.

[He glanced down at her.] Oh?

[He's never asked a human how long they tend to live. This will sadden him greatly when he learns of it.]

I'm only.. [She honestly didn't know how old she was anymore, with the jumping she'd done, but she could take a stab at it.].. at the end of my second decade. Hell, most of us only live to about 90.

So.. yeah.. Infantile. Four Million years, really?

[She didn't understand how that was even possible and she was a forward thinking lady.]

[His optics flash in shock.] Second...decade?

[His shoulder pauldrons droop a bit at this news.] I...never realized humans lived such a short time.

[That makes their lives so much more precious to him, something beautiful to be preserved and protected.]

I’ve not, really. I’ve been in Haven for about two years, and in this time in Haven for almost a year I think. The ages of the organic based people around me hadn’t even come up.

Eh, it happens. Either way, 80 years is long for us, so the day to day time has a little more stretch.

[She turned back around again, to watch the moving landscape.]

Gotta say, I could get use to travel like this. You give a good view of the place, Wing.

[The change of subject brings a smile back, helping him to push his concerns away for now.]

[He steps up to a large, round...contraption. Ever seen Stargate?] Ah, here we are. This is one of the Gateways. There's all over Haven and can quickly get you anywhere you need to go. Each Gateway has a number. For now the two you'll want to remember are Gateways one and two. One will take you to just outside the Hospital, and two will take you just outside of The Hub, it's a central area where you'll be able to find food and any other essentials you'll need, including a place to stay.

[Devi smiled crookedly up at him before focusing on the gateway that was coming up on them.]

Well food and shelter are always good things to have...

.. Where else do they go though? How many gateways are there? And, more importantly, me stepping into this.. a malfunction isn't going to cut me in half or something, right? There are like.. safeguards? Sorry, I've seen a lot of bad sci fi movies.

[Because you'd better believe she will hike her ass wherever she needs to go instead of using it, if there's a chance.]

[If she were talking to Breakdown, he’d probably reference The Fly, just as Sam had, but Wing is, unfortunately, unfamiliar with such movies.]

It’s perfectly safe, even for organics. I wouldn’t be taking you through if I wasn’t completely sure that you’d be safe.

As far as other Gateways, over a hundred around the city.

So this place is really just that fucking large, huh? I think I'll take the scenic route though, admire the landscape at least once before I start using Gateways. After all, something interesting might be in the middle of here and there.
