[The video comes on to a human with a microphone gripped in hand, staring straight at the camera. He seems to be in a sort of news room, or at least he has a backdrop behind him that gives the impression of one.]

Good evening, one and all. This is Eric Thillens with HVNTV News, your best source for all the news around the city.

First of all, let me extend a warm welcome to our newest arrivals. Again. [Because, oops, apparently he jumped the gun a bit last week and announced a welcome to people before most of them had even received their comm drones, let alone gained access to the network.] For those of you most recently arrived in our fair city, the news station is in the Central Hub and serves as your one-stop information source. Hope to see you here soon, and best of luck settling in. I'm afraid you're here for a while.

In other news, it's been reported that Bulkhead 26 is down, which means no hot springs spa visits unless you want to brave the snows and heights. I'm told our own Chief Engineer himself is working on it, so that gateway should be back up and running in no time. We'll update as that news becomes available.

In more serious news, Paian has confirmed that natural healing and auto-repair systems aren't working as they should. Even his Guardian power to heal is hampered. Authorities are investigating possible causes, but they've not reported any leads so far. Stay tuned as details of this dangerous story unfol-

[Thillens is interrupted by someone off to one side who hands him a datapad. He reads it . . . reads it again, looks like he's trying not to either scoff or laugh. He coughs instead, turning his attention back to the camera.]

And on a lighter note, Alia has just told us there's been another Miasma drop. This one seems to have been more centralized than normal, which is a good thing. Clean-up crews are now on the scene to gather all the cans of cat food that have just been deposited not far from the mayor's house. Well . . . all we can say is this: at least the city's sizeable cat population will be happy for weeks, if not months, to come.

This has been Eric Thillens with HVNTV News, signing off.

((OOC: Thillens won't reply, as this is a closed news post. However, feel free to react and thread among yourselves. Or, if anyone wants to go looking for him, action threads are quite welcome.))
