[accidental video] - southeastern sector

[As promised, the world ~~ends~~erupts in explosions here and there and everywhere one random night. Why wouldn't it, right? Sure, this is all fun and games, or is it?]

[It's not quite, not for this little mech the camera has seen fit to track, as is apparent from his screams as he darts behind this piece of rubble and that, trying desperately to get to that broken down building right over thar. Whatever has caused these massive craters around him, it clearly isn't finished, and he's right in the middle of it.]

[He lets loose a last cry as one particularly shiny explosion catches him right near on his aft and makes a wild dive for the ruined entrance - or at least, it might have once been an entrance at one point - and scrambles to get back up from the floor to slam his back against the wall, optics wide with ~~fright~~alarm. He presses a palm to his chest to help steady him because omfg what is going on even this is cray. He could fight back if he could at least see what he'd ticked off, but there's just nothing there! That same hand is lifted and two fingers go to the side of his head]

Master Drift! Slipstream! Please, respond! We are under attack!

[And he has no idea where he is. And please are you alive. This isn't Earth. This looks more like Cybertron. But it's not. Scrap is going down. What happened here what even is going on this is so not Kansas anymore STOP SHOOTING AT HIM]

[Whatever that little drone thing was that was near him, he hopes it... Oh. There it is, right in front of him. He stares at it. His mouth moves to say more. And the feed drops there.]

[It was a nice distraction from the pain, but he'll leave his thoughts to himself for a while and let Breakdown run. Seems like the explosions might have given them a bit of a break, but he's not counting on that. They've done this before.]

[He clings a little tighter when they make it out and this new place comes into view, so much different than where he'd been before.]

[He slows and heads for the hospital.]

The medic here has odd abilities. You'll be top shape really fast.

What is this place? [There goes another spark from that knee. Ow.] Is this also Haven?

It's the hospital, and pretty close to the center of the city. This whole area is considered Haven.

Even where I was? [He's trying to get his bearings, something to get his mind off the ach- ow, yeah, that's not happening.]

How far away were we?

Yeah, even there.

Haven covers about two-hundred fifty mile diameter. We're essentially blocked in by the Miasma, so that's all the room there is.

[He steps into the hospital and looks around.]

The Miasma? [flinch ow] What is a Miasma?

[Oh, this place is... a place.]

It's this black and purple mist stuff, the stuff that was around you when you first got here. It's...well it's some kind of substance that's made by Unicron and Primus. It's dangerous and unpredictable, and is likely the reason for all the explosions.

[He spots someone who looks like they work there and approaches.]

[Oh that stuff. He remembers hearing about it. Vaguely. From the drone. He just hadn't understood it at the time. Little hard to accept. But now he's having to do so. Sink or swim, Minicon.]

How can one fight something like that? [It's more musing on his part than an actual question.]

We're still working on that...

Hey! This guy needs to see the medic! [Yeah, he's calling to one of the staff. The other bot will motion for them to follow and will lead them to an exam room. Breakdown will set Jetstorm on the table. He's actually rather careful about it.]

I'm gonna guess not because of this, [said as he gestures at his Con badge] but if you want I'll wait for the medic to finish with you, then give you a quick tour of the city. Up to you.

[He'll help with that let down as much as he can, but it still hurts. The one thing he'd predict that he could actually trust so far today.]

I... would not ask you to go back out into that, whatever is happening outside. You have been kind and risked yourself for me. It would be a disgrace to ask you to do so again.

[He gives a shrug] I don't think anywhere is really safe. I'm surprised they didn't follow you into the ruins you were hiding in. My partner and I have had a number of them inside our place.

It's not something you can avoid, even staying inside.

Probably best to save a tour for after this passes, though. ....You'll need a place to stay until then.

[He nods.]

I am small. If I can find somewhere to hide, I may be alright. But if nowhere is safe, then I guess it does not matter where I go. But thank you.

Where you go may not matter, but you'd be stupid to go off on your own.

[He can't really argue that. He had someone with him and look how that ended for him.]

I would like not to be alone. Do you have a suggestion?

[Asking advice from a thus-far helpful Decepticon. That should be an oxymoron all around.]

[He hesitates...He's got to be crazy.]

You could come with me until this is over.

[Assuming you can get past the brands on his arms.]

[It wasn't quite what he's been thinking. But he's not sure about anything at all here, and thus far, this one hasn't tried to hurt him, hasn't threatened him, even brought him to a medical facility. And he did say his partner was on the other side now.]

[He thinks back to the human child and the white bot who'd taken her to safety. The child trusted that one, but something told him it wouldn't be bad to take Breakdown's offer.]

I would be grateful. I will not make trouble.

[...He...he accepted. Wow, he wasn't expecting that.]

[He nods.] I'll let Knock Out know. And, I'm sure you will anyway, [Autobot and all that] but watch out for Akito when we get back, he's smaller than you are and...human. [or part, but he doesn't feel like explaining that.]

[To be honest, he wasn't either. But it was a life he saved out there, and Jetstorm would be dishonoring them both if he didn't at least make the effort.]

I have a little experience around humans. Your Akito will not be harmed. [If this human is anything like Commander Russell, they'll get on just fine.] I am in your debt, Breakdown. [He's not able to bow for you out of respect for the actions taken, the sacrifices made, but he'll make up for that later in full. For now, please accept him just... bowing his head.]

[He waves a hand.] Forget about it. I’ll...I’ll be in the waiting room. I’ll see you when the medic is done with you.

[Awkward...]

[He nods. And he's not going to try getting down from that table. He doesn't want to risk it with the way things are now. But sitting isn't so bad. He can deal with this.]

[Now to wait.]

[Breakdown will wait patiently. It feels like forever to him before the door opens again and the human medics slips back out. He finds himself actually concerned for the mini! ...He...couldn’t really say why...just is...]

[He'd been wondering if Breakdown really was going to wait for him, but sure enough, there the Decepticon is when he walks back out into the waiting room. He blinks and finally gives him a proper bow, fist to palm and all that jazz.]

Thank you for staying and waiting for me to return, Breakdown. I wish to fully express my gratitude for your kindness.

[How formal and...polite, and...awkward.]

[He shrugs] I said I would.

[He straightens and steps a little closer.]

You did. I was not sure if you would be here, or if the Miasma would attack you in here, if it could, or if something else would happen.
