Hey! Excuse me! Anyone on this line?

[This voice sounds... like you are talking to Guyman himself. Musical and modulated, and kind of sort of loud]

Since when did Cybertron have grass? Or... y'know still be here? The fact that it's still... I mean that it's not... y'know really... dead and stuff is sort of-

NO REALLY WHY IS THERE GRASS HERE?

[He sounds pretty disturbed by this]

Not that grass is bad! I like grass, it was great on earth, if... y'know anyone here has been there at all, but like- Is that a farm? ... There's a tiny farm he- Did anyone see the tiny farm? Oh my god, I have to get a picture of this no wait, hold on.

Yeah... It's... not home home but it's... pretty close to it.

[He kind of lingered outside the workshop rather than stride right in. Sorry, he has some nasty memories of Wheekjack, that crazy aft almost snapped his visor in half with his dump robot pomp.]

You know I think I'll... just wait for him out here.

Oh--?

[She pauses, turning in the doorway, and looks Soundwave over. His odd aura betrays him---not with its strangeness, (at least, not right now,) but by showing something, and even at a rough read uncertainty's apparently a lot of it.]

Okay.

[He was scared. He shouldn't be, from what he heard, from what she told him, but all the stories of Wheeljack, and his first hand account of Wheeljack... and his actual face to face meeting with Wheeljack, just convinced Soundwave he never wanted to meet Wheeljack again]

I'll be okay! I'll just... y'know I'll be right here!

[Where he had room to run if he had to]

[It's several minutes before the door of the massive workshop opens again. Wheeljack steps out, Sam perched comfortably on the palm of one flat hand. All he's been told is "new dude who likes to tinker" who wanted to meet him. Which is probably a good thing, considering he wouldn't have agreed half so readily had he known the mech's name was Soundwave.]

[Instead, he spots the lanky mech, head tilting faintly at the odd (to his world's sensibilities) design, but approaches, free hand out to offer a shake of greeting, his optics light, almost teal in color.]

Hey, heard someone wanted ta meet the resident Chief Engineer. Name's Wheeljack. What can I do for ya?

[Sam's content to sit where she is and allow Soundwave to introduce himself, though she turns her attention to the mech to watch for some sort of reaction.]

[He stiffens a little. Yes this looks like a different Wheeljack, doesn't sound the same either, but there are a lot of similarities. Maybe not in paint, but in frame. There's a nervous musical titter, and he takes his hand, giving it a shake]

Nice to meet you! I mean... yeah! I didn't... think I'd get to meet you like this, sir. Um... W-well! Well I was just... I thought it'd be really cool if I could start modifying drones! Y'know just... to keep busy and stuff, just something to do, and like... mmmmaaaaybe... you'd... have stuff we need to do that?

Why does it matter if I have been rude? Do we have a deal or not?

[He wouldn't have to be doing this at all if the cursed ghost of the Sam Witch hadn't forced him to give up the warehouse. He was still trying to think of a way to get around that.]

You can't be rude to friends, Dirge, or else they're not gonna want to be friends with you.

No one can know everything.

[Normally he'd say that writing an opponent off like that is a good way to an early grave, but unlike back home, he doubts that their confrontation will escalate much beyond a fistfight, if it even gets that far, so he doesn't say anything.

It's not too long til he arrives at the bar, transforming and landing outside and releasing his drone from his cockpit. Once he heads inside, it's not hard to spot Soundwave.

He raises a hand in greeting to let Soundwave know he's been spotted, then heads over to join him wherever he'd decided to sit.]

Almost everything!

[Typical Soundwave pride though, that seemed pretty constant between universes.

In the bar he'd be impossible to miss. The weird looking, lanky white mech with the yellow biolights. He eagerly waved at Jadewing, beckoning him over to where he was sitting.]

If you asked I totally could have ground bridged you here. Save on fuel!

[Yes it was. Jadewing just hopes it won't get too annoying with this much louder version.

Jadewing slid easily into the boot seat across from Soundwave.]

Or I could've just taken the gates for the same effect, yeah.

On thing seems to be missing from your vast knowledge, though. I dunno about the Seekers from your world, but the ones here will almost never turn down a chance to fly.

Nnno... n-no that's pretty much constant but... w-well we're kinda in the middle of an energon shortage. Yeah the lack of flight is totally driving Starscream and me insane but... well we have to save somewhere.

Sorry man, I was... y'know not... really used to having more?

[Despite Soundwave's trepidation, this seems to be going well---not that Sam's surprised. She's spent enough time talking to (and, while the theatre was a work in progress, working with) Wheeljack to get a decent idea of what the old engineer is: genuinely nice. She swings her hanging feet a little, shrugging as she twists to look up at the bot holding her.]

You were highly recommended as a helpful sort.

[No, that wasn't a tiny guilty flinch there. You totally just imagined it.]

Ah... yeah, forgot my world might not have been the only one where that happened.

Yeah, it took a little while to get used to energon not being rationed. Haven's the first place I was able to completely top off since... well, ever, really, since I'm a war build.

Yeah...

So it's not rationed here? I can actually have enough?

[Jadewing chuckles.]

No, it's not. If there's one thing this place has lots of, it's energon. And speaking of...

[It's about then that the server comes around and Jadewing puts in his order.]

So-

[Well he quickly flags down the server, and babbles out a huge order. It is non specific, he just wants a lot of it.]

That doesn't mean someone can't take it off of you. [You're a skinny thing, Soundwave, he knows mechs who could probably break you rather easily. But he's going to train you so that you're not so easy to take down.]

[He smiles...he's not seen many movies that weren't made on Cybertron, but he can imagine Soundwave has seen the like somewhere.] Then let's see you try.

[OK, that, plus the mildly flustered look on the server's face, gets a genuine laugh out of Jade.]

The fact that there's lots of energon here wasn't meant as a challenge to see if you could drink it all in one sitting, you know.

But that'd be hard!

[He could see an Autobot trying to snap it off, but there didn't seem to be any around here interested in doing that.

He stammers for a moment, embarrassed]

No! I'll look stupid!

[HE'S A YOUNG MECH HE NEEDS A LOT OKAY]

N-no I know! I know but-

Oh man you don't even know how long it's been since I've had a full tank!

Heh, well I don't know about you, but for me it was about seven and a half million years, give or take a century or two.

Yeah see that's too long, no way.

[He's also slipped in a LOT of high grade because he wants to have this night of gluttony count]

[She giggles] I'm sure it will, sweetie. [She's just gonna flutter up and plant a soft kiss on the top edge of his visor.]
