[There are some mechanical chirping over the network before the video comes on, and all one sees is a robo firelizard's face feeling the screen. Then what is a familiar voice to some speaks up.]

Charmer, get away from that.

[The firelizard chirps and gets away from the drone and Rose comes into view before the lizard flies over to perch on her shoulder.]

It looks like this thing is working again.

[That's a bit of relief.]

How long was I away?

[And since there may be new faces since she was last here...]

For those who do not know me, I am Rose.

Also, I would like to know how one would go about joining the Police Force here.

[Maya was really glad to see another person her size. That was a plus. And that little... robot... lizard thing was just too cute!]

Hi! I'm Maya. I can't really answer your question about how long you've been gone, since I just got here myself.

[There's a bit of an apologetic smile at that.]

Sorry about that. Also, where'd you get the little guy? He's so neat! And so cute!

That is alright. It is still good to meet you, Maya.

[At the mention of being called cute, Charmer chirps happily and spread his wings to show off. Oh yeah, he's awesome! Rose gives a soft laugh and pets his head to calm him down.]

The little guy is Charmer. Before when I first arrived on this Cybertron I was on another one that was much younger. One of the non native Cybertronians built several of them to give to the other refugees.

From one Cybertron to another, huh? Well this is my first time on any Cybertron and it's really different than where I'm from.

[Maya smiled and waved at the little lizard.]

Well, Charmer there seems to be a lot more helpful than my little drone that it seems like everyone has. I'mtrying to come up with a name for him regardless.

[Because of course little robot buddies needed names. Even if they weren't as cute as Charmer there.]

So... where did you end up when you left here?

That is just it, I have no memory of where I ended up after I was taken from here. I just have a sense that some time had passed.

[Maya seems to almost deflate a little at that news.]

Oh. So it wasn't like you got to go home or anything? Geez. This place sucks.

I do not think it is so bad.

[Of course during her time on the previous Cybertron she grew quite attached to it.]

Besides, I may have some explanation for my lack of memory. Back on my home world, Endiness, I am supposed to be dead.

[Maya seemed to peer really hard at Rose then. Rose looked pretty solid for a ghost, all things considered. And in her experience, ghosts didn't have auras. Rose, however, didn't seem to have that problem. She seemed quite alive to Maya.]

Huh. Weird.

[She shook her head a little bit.]

Well, you look pretty solid to me. And I don't think this place is any version of any afterlife that I'm familiar with. So you look pretty healthy for someone that's supposed to be dead!

[This last was both pretty cheerful, but also there was a note of confidence there as well.]

[She gives a bit of a shrug.]

Do not ask how that is possible. It is just something that happens.

[Maya sighed. Death shouldn't just be reversible like that. It shouldn't be that simple.]

It is hard to explain. The previous Cybertron I was on had being known as the First Forge that were practically gods. If anyone died there, they would bring them back to life.

Yeah, rabbit hole. You know, like in Alice in Wonderland? Don't they have fairytales in Endiness?

[This place was getting weirder and weirder. First there were robots who didn't seem to understand the concept of pets and now Rose seemed to come from a world without simple things like make believe. Well, maybe their fairytales were just different?]

These First Forged guys aren't on this version of Cybertron though? What happened to them?

[Her little robot buddy hadn't mentioned them, but Maya wanted to know if she needed to keep an eye out for godlike beings who could just reverse death if they felt like it.]

We have fairytales, but this "Alice in Wonderland" is not one of them. I have never even heard of it.

[She shakes her head some.]

As far as I can tell, the First Forged are not here, at least not anymore.
