[Guess who's been buried to the vocal indicator flanges with work for the past month.  The city's Chief Engineer has been working with his fellow Guardians to investigate what the hell Galos was up to - and how it got past them to even suspect what was really happening - and how to prevent it in the future.  And...other things, but he'd have to be specifically asked about that, because OY so not fun.  Plus overseeing the rebuild of the apartments and other structures that were damaged in that blast a while back and replacing victims' comm drones and other service drones.  He's been one busy mechanic.]

[And it's a little audible in his voice when he finally shows himself on the network.  But at least he waited till he'd gotten two full rest-cycles to recover before doing this?]

'Afternoon, Haven.  In case anyone doesn't know me, my name's Wheeljack.  I'm one'a the Guardians of the city as well as the Chief Engineer.  An' before anyone says it . . . no, just because I touch it doesn't mean it'll blow up.  That's just my experimental stuff.  Anyway, my shop's been closed for some time - for obvious reasons - but I'm lettin' people know now that I'm open again.  Most repair work can be handled by the Mr. Fix-It shop on the other side of the Hub, but if they send ya my way, I can take it now.  Also if you've got mods or other ideas you'd like ta have built, come see me an' we'll talk.  No guarantees I'll do it, as always, but we can talk.

[He shakes his head. It's mostly a matter of "how much do I need to explain?" but it doesn't really necessarily matter.]

Kind of. I'm what's called a Cybertronian. [His head tilts a bit as he finally really takes in the ears, eye color, and hair.] An' . . . you're not human, right? Mind me askin' what your race is?

[The interior of the shop is about what one might expect from a genius mechanical tinkerer - there are boxes and sundry bits-n-bobs all over various shelves, a few tables, even the floor. A voice calls from farther into the space, somewhere behind shelving units and blast walls.]

Back here! Hang on a sec! Oh, an', uh . . . don't come too far in just yet, okay? I've got somethin' running over in the right – well, your left – corner an'…well, just stay by the door, okay?

[His optics darken a shade, his tone hinting worry. He remembers that you're one of those who came up from below, meaning you were one of those who'd been taken by Galos.]

But anyway, yeah, lemme know when you wanna meet up. Hub's always a good place, but there are other places around the city too. Whatever ya'd like.

Shop's cool to see, but I'd wanted to come in and ask about a drone exchange. Don't get me wrong---I like my little skyping saucer just fine, but given what I've seen it support? I'm thinking one of the bigger ones would hold my weight, and still move faster than I'm able to.

Better than I was right after... everything. Especially after patching things up with Elsa. And after talking to a... really unusual cat, if you can believe that.

Anyway, I was thinking the maybe we could hit the bar, if you're up for that. [smirk] After being cooped up for so long I figure anybody could use a drink.

You thinkin' specifically a transport comm drone, or you mostly just want transport. A bigger drone'll hold your weight, but it wouldn't be that comfortable, I wouldn't think.

[Not that he wouldn't give her an exchange, but if it wouldn't REALLY serve her needs...]

[He gets personal projects - he has his own - and others might question why she'd want to work on weapon designs, but not him. If he hadn't been doing so himself, they wouldn't have had half the stuff that was used against Galos a few weeks ago. The comment isn't really a warning, just that, as a Guardian, he's kind of obliged to make that clear up front whether he thinks someone might be aiming to cause trouble or not. But he nods amicably.]

[He's LONG used to working around and with humans, so he doesn't even think about it in shortening and slowing his gait for Sam to keep up.]

[They head next door to the Warehouse and Wheeljack wastes no time passing some aisles and turning down others, knowing the exact section he's heading for. Soon, the area where any and all transport types (short of teleportation, that's another section) comes into view.]
