[The little drone sent to this new arrival has ended up turned on.  She seems to be trying to shoo it away.]  N-no.  No, go away.  Please.  [She's whispering, but the tone is desperate and edged with tears.]
 
[She turns and limps away from the drone, something must be wrong with her right leg.  The drone just...follows.  When the girl glances back and sees it still coming after her she lets out a sound that's something between a frustrated growl and a whimper.]

L-leave me alone.

[Anyone paying special attention to the surroundings the drone shows may note that this child seems to be somewhere close to The Hub, as they'll be able to spot the Warehouse behind her at least once.]

[smiling] That's really pretty. Just amazing. I've never heard of powers with ice. Papa has told me about water wielders, but not ice.

[She looks around and...and slips off the couch to almost cautiously approach him. Is he going to be mad that she didn't stay in the couch?]

No. He found me though, and promised to keep me safe. Says the laws against wielders are wrong.

[His head almost poked into the cupboard trying to find an appropriate pot, Lea doesn't notice that she's moved at first. When he does, though, he's definitely not angry. In fact he looks pleasantly surprised; the kid was approaching him of her own volition. Progress!]

Well, hey there. Did you wanna help out?

[The tone of the question makes it clear that she's welcome to say no, but it was a reasonable assumption, given that she'd joined him in the kitchenette.]

[Progress indeed! Though she's not quite ready to interact...too much. She gives him a quick, shy smile and shakes her head...but she'll shift somewhere she can easily watch...]

...Is that...food in there? [She's never seen food in something like that before.]

[Lea will take what he can get for the moment and returns the smile, setting the newly retrieved pot on the countertop next to the juice.]

Yeah. It's called condensed soup. That means that it's soup someone made, then took some of the water out and sealed it in metal cans like this. That way it keeps a lot longer.

Course, that means we have to add some water back in before we can heat it up and eat it.

[He emptied the contents of the can into the pot, then went to the sink and filled the can with water. Retrieving a spoon from the silverware drawer, he proceeded to mix the can of water with the can of soup.]

There. Now all we have to do is heat it, and it'll be ready to eat.

[He paused, an amused, almost conspiratorial grin spreading over his face.]

Wanna see something neat while I do?

[Once he added the water and set down the can to stir, Jendayi slipped the can off the counter to study it. It's so...fascinating. But that grin makes her blink and kind of gape at Lea.]

Something neat? Okay... [She was curious at least.]

[Instead of moving the pot to the cooktop, he holds it about 6 inches over the upturned palm of his other hand. Then, as Jendayi watches, a samll fireball forms in his hand, which then flattens out into a disk-shape, so as to heat the soup evenly.

Lea grins.]

[But she does lift up the can, which then lifts from her hand in a mini tornado in her palm.]

Trust me, humans would be the least of your worries, there are plenty more dangerous beings there. But I doubt the Guardian who runs the place would allow any fighting.
