[Accidental Video]

[The little drone sent to this new arrival has ended up turned on. She seems to be trying to shoo it away.] N-no. No, go away. Please. [She's whispering, but the tone is desperate and edged with tears.]

[She turns and limps away from the drone, something must be wrong with her right leg. The drone just...follows. When the girl glances back and sees it still coming after her she lets out a sound that's something between a frustrated growl and a whimper.]

L-leave me alone.

[Anyone paying special attention to the surroundings the drone shows may note that this child seems to be somewhere close to The Hub, as they'll be able to spot the Warehouse behind her at least once.]

[Paian nods] All right. Take care, then. You can take her whenever you're ready to go.

[With that he'll slip out of the room. They can stay however long they want and leave when ready.]

[Lea nods his thanks to Paian as the medic leaves. He's suddenly reminded, though, that he needs to check and see if Paian was ever able to replicate his Potion. They'd both apparently forgotten it in the confusion of Galos' attempted coup and the following... fallout.

Paian's gone before he can say anything though. Ah well. That had waited this long, it'd wait another day or two.

Turning his attention back to Jendayi, he smiled.]

See? What'd I tell you; nothing to worry about.

[There he paused a moment, smile turning a bit sheepish as he stood up to leave.]

I hope you don't mind sleeping on the couch for the night. I mean, I'll fix it up for you, but my apartment was really only meant for one, so there's no spare bed. And we'll have to see about getting you cleaned up a little, and get you some other clothes. The clothes can wait til tomorrow. And the cleaning up can wait til after you eat, since well, doctor's orders and all.

[Yeah, he's babbling a bit as he walks. Because it's just hitting him now that assuming her Papa didn't come along with her (a highly likely possibility), then he may well end up taking care of the kid long term. And he... really wasn't sure he was up to the task.]

[She ends up watching him while he rambles at her, just studying him. When he kind of trails off for a moment she'll speak up, voice soft.]

...Thank you.

Papa says I'll be able to fly... [It's said softly, to herself...he may still hear.]

You have pretty wings...

[The soft thanks makes him look even more sheepish.]

Paian's the one who really did all the work. I didn't really do anything any decent person wouldn't have done.

[slight pause] Hope you don't mind but we're gonna have to go through another portal to get back to my place. It'd take way too long to walk there straight.

[She just nodded about the portal, and...found herself tucking against him even more. She...was so confused, and exhausted, and...just glad this was all turning out okay, even if it turned out to only be a really strange dream later.]

[Lea looks down at her, smiling softly as she tucks in closer and adjusting his hold slightly so the new position is more comfortable for her. Memory of words from half a lifetime ago comes to the surface...

What is it with you and picking up stray puppies?

Regardless, he lets her rest there til they get to the portal, once again activating it and passing through without incident. Once on the other side, it was only a short walk to the building housing Lea's apartment, and a climb up two flights of stairs to get there. Lea punched in a short key-code to open the door.]

Well, here we are. Home sweet home, kinda.

[It's a small but comfortable three room apartment, with the main room divided up into a living area and kitchenette, with two doors along the left-hand wall leading into a bedroom and bathroom. Lea turns on the lights and finally sets Jendayi down on the couch.]

Go ahead and make yourself comfortable; I'll see about getting you something to eat, OK?

[Stepping into the apartment had her gaping. She looked around giving the room a mix of an awed and funny look. The light coming on made her flinch and stare, and even the couch got a bit of a funny look as she shifted on it.]

Okay...thank you.

[What a strange place...this whole place is so strange...unlike anything she's ever seen before.]

Hn. Don't see how.

[The compliment catches him off-guard.]

Mn. Thanks.

What do you mean you'll be able to fly?

[She blushes. He heard that? Oops.]

Um...I ah...I can control air. My Papa says if I keep practicing, and as I get older and stronger, I'll be able to fly.

His name is Paian. He's a really rather big guy, like a bear, but he's rather kind. He helps people and the large metal giants, so no doubt he would help you.

[ Only now, she catches a glimpse of her curious ears. Hey, if giant robots and trolls were real, anything was possible. Elsa chews on her bottom lip for a moment, still struggling with an idea of how to get the little one to come around to her. She thinks, long and hard; what would her little sister Anna, at her age, like to do for fun? ]

How about this. [ She tries to take the worry off of her face, and it's half successful, at best. ]

I'll stay on the box with you, while I walk to come find you. You can ask me any question you'd like, and I'll answer, completely honest. You can ask me about absolutely anything, even my most secret secrets. Is that alright with you?

I...I don't know. I--ah! [The feed cuts to static.]

[Poor Elsa will be left to worry for a little over an hour before she'll see the little girl's face come up on her screen again. She looks a lot calmer than before, and is even indoors, snuggled on a couch with a blanket around her shoulders. Elsa may even recognize that Jendayi is sitting in Lea's appartment now.]

Mn...h-hello...?

No, no no, wait!

[ She disappeared! Elsa's stricken with worry for the time being, just until again, she appears. Since then, Elsa's been dragging herself around town against her better judgement, looking for the little girl without the slightest afterthought. She worried, and ohhhhh she worried. ]

[ The hour passes, and Elsa's found sitting rather defeated against a nearby building. Pursing her lips, she's luckily looking at the droid when the child pops up again. Her expression changes immediately, from stricken to uplifted. Oh thank goodness, she was ok. ]

You! You're alright! Oh, oh thank goodness, I was worried something had gotten you!

[ Sadly, Elsa's never been before, but the blanket sort of helps give it away. ]

Someone else found you? You're alright now?

[Voice is soft]

Lea took me to the healer then to his house.

...m'sorry I worried you.

"Control" air?

[Incredulous – even Seekers, masters of the sky as they are, can't control air.]

A person that someone built out of metal.

[Inaccurate as it is, technically, it's the best thing he can think of to keep it simple enough for a child not from his world.]

Um...y-yes. I can control air.

...wow... [she shifts around a bit as though doing so will let her see more of him...when it doesn't sork that way she goes still again.]

[small smile at that]

Will you let me come meet you?

Fleshling, that's not possible.

[Yeeeeah, sorry, humans and the like are still "fleshlings" when he's annoyed or whatever. He's not actually aware of having said that.]

[She flinches, but then gives him an offended pout] But I can!

[She steps back, looks around and finds a rock. She picks it up and holds it out at the drone. The rock lifts from her palm and floats there. Sh-she's hurting though and with a huff she drops her arm and the rock.]

See? I can too control air...

I-I don't know...I...I d--ah! [The feed cuts. It's a bit over an hour before Deckard will see her face of the screen again. Looks like she's indoors with a blanket around her shoulders now at least.]

[And by the time she contacts him again, he's in her general area, having tracked the signal from her comm drone. He's relieved, to say the least.]
