Gardens, unsurprisingly enough. And fountains; the city's water fixtures and stonework were something of a point of pride. And there were lots of flower gardens; most everyone had at least a window box.

And technology and certain varieties of magic kind of went hand in hand there; I was surprised to find out how uncommon that was when I got out into the wider World. Harnessed fire magic for cooking and heating, harnessed blizzard magic for refrigeration and air conditioning, harnessed water and thunder magic providing the city with hydro-electric power...

We had our king, Ansem the Wise, to thank for that. He was a great sage, and promoted the study and development of both magic and technology for everyone's good. It was the other side of magic that got us all into trouble, though.
