[A slightly dirty purple haired girl pops up on the feed, peering with sharp green eyes into the camera.]
This thing on? [There was an affirmative beep and she nodded, still looking wholly suspicious.]
Now, I know enough about science to know where I'm not - Not the moon though these craters beg to tell me differently, [she muttered with a glance at the creator filled South Eastern Sector.]
Anyone wanna help a Girl figure out what rock I just landed on? This sure as hell isn't a rock that I know of and I'm well versed in... Ok, not space science. Right now, I'm well versed in confusion...
[She tugged idly at her tertiary ear piecing in thought.]

It's actually surprisingly human-friendly; way, way more comfortable than I ever expected being lost in space could be. Most of the people---humans, robots, and others---are friendly themselves, too, but... You'll want to watch out for Dirge. He's problematic, to put it politely. Never had an issue with anyone else here, but that guy? Huge jerk. Literally, as he's Cybertronian.

Waitwait wait wait. Big? Like.. how..[This is Devi slowly noticing that not everything is to her scale. When the scale clicks in her head, she could almost turn into the O: emoji]
ooo I can not wait to really meet these things.

That's right---forty pounds of granite sliding down the sheet. We got ice, we got rocks, we made the most of it.
Big like a friend helped me furnish my apartment by passing furniture through a window, even though I live on the third floor.
...guys. Or dudes. [It's an effort to soften the correction somewhat, make it as polite as possible.] Or peeps, I guess, if you'd go for something all-encompassing, but I only ever spoke with one who presented as a dudette.

Not.. not everything here is sentient is it? Like, I'm not going to have to get into a fight with my toaster over if I don't say please enough, right?
no subject
N--[and at 'a fight with my toaster,' she loses it, laughing hard enough her eyes water. With an effort, she gets herself under control---at least, enough to talk.] Ohhh my god, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It's just that I had to fight my friggin' blender before, but!
[She holds up her hands.]
That was just the once, and only because my roomie modded what had once been an ordinary appliance into a little robot.

Sweet Jezzus I hope so. I've read those stories about appliances and AI's taking over - I'll pass on smoothie by combat.
I'm Devi, by the way.

Sam. It's nice to meet you.

I swear, I'm almost out of questions but.. I'm not going to have to kill and hunt my own food right? I'm not much for hunting/gathering if I can help it.

That's something. This place definitely seems like it could be worse. What's the catch? Is the miasma it?
[Even if she didn't know what the miasma would do, really, it seemed to easy.]

I've seen worse places right out of the gate, so despite all that, I think I can live with it. The company doesn't seem so bad, so far.

Well, it doesn't sound any crazier then Space Satan and Cthulhu. Hell isn't a far jump once you've got that under your belt.
no subject
You're right; it doesn't sound any crazier, even if it is mildly disconcerting and raises a couple of questions.

This place does have alcohol, doesn't it? Not that I drink that often, but a shot now and then or a beer is good.
no subject
You bet, and you aren't the first person to ask upon arriving. I gotta recommend The Bloody Masterpiece at Your Place. The virgin version especially makes for a nice lunch.
no subject
A little late for lunch right now, but it's five o'clock somewhere and damn if this kinda travel doesn't make me thirsty.

[And boop! A file with directions, sent to Devi's drone.]
Granted, this will be more useful once you're coming up on the more-settled spaces... d'you need a lift?
[She's seen that other people have commented, sure, but hasn't yet sifted through the other feeds.]
no subject
Uh, no but Thanks. Guy named Wing is comin' out for me. Can't turn down a ride like that, ya know?
[Chicks dig giant robots, right? ]
no subject
Even if you could, I'd say no, no, stick with it. I know Wing; he's super nice. Took me touring around when I was new. You'll be in good hands.
no subject
Thanks for the help though.
no subject
You're welcome. Don't hesitate to give a shout if you need a hand with anything, alright?
no subject
Yeah, I will. [To Devi's left, the dust from Wing's entrance starts blowing past.] Think my lift's here. Catch ya later.
[With that, Devi cut the feed.]
