[A slightly dirty purple haired girl pops up on the feed, peering with sharp green eyes into the camera.]

This thing on? [There was an affirmative beep and she nodded, still looking wholly suspicious.]

Now, I know enough about science to know where I'm not - Not the moon though these craters beg to tell me differently, [she muttered with a glance at the creator filled South Eastern Sector.]

Anyone wanna help a Girl figure out what rock I just landed on? This sure as hell isn't a rock that I know of and I'm well versed in... Ok, not space science. Right now, I'm well versed in confusion...

[She tugged idly at her tertiary ear piecing in thought.]

Exactly, I'm not so sure---but it's best avoided as it's a lot like condensed chaotic bad juju, and apparently the product of something kind of like a robotic space Satan/Cthulhu, or so I hear. Let me tell you, it sounds just as bizarre when you're the one saying it to someone else.

It's mostly bordering the city and some attached areas. Sometimes little bits bubble up where it's supposed to be clear, but those little bubbling bits mostly dump stuff. And people, like you and me.

It's actually surprisingly human-friendly; way, way more comfortable than I ever expected being lost in space could be. Most of the people---humans, robots, and others---are friendly themselves, too, but... You'll want to watch out for Dirge. He's problematic, to put it politely. Never had an issue with anyone else here, but that guy? Huge jerk. Literally, as he's Cybertronian.

[She holds up her hands.]

That was just the once, and only because my roomie modded what had once been an ordinary appliance into a little robot.

[The awkward was easily passed with a nod and a spreading grin at her laughter and eyebrows raised in surprise.]

Sweet Jezzus I hope so. I've read those stories about appliances and AI's taking over - I'll pass on smoothie by combat.

I swear, I'm almost out of questions but.. I'm not going to have to kill and hunt my own food right? I'm not much for hunting/gathering if I can help it.

Oh, pshhh. I've been here months and I'm still bugging everyone around me with all kinds of questions, so ask away, if you've got others. To answer? Nah, nah. There's a farm that produces food for the city, and there's 'The Pantry' approximating a grocery store---I say approximating cause you don't pay, you just record what you take so that they can monitor the demand and supply---and places to get stuff prepared in the Hub. There's a good restaurant, and 'Your Place,' which is a bar with some real meal stuff.

[That made Devi grin a little.]

That's something. This place definitely seems like it could be worse. What's the catch? Is the miasma it?

[Even if she didn't know what the miasma would do, really, it seemed to easy.]

For sure, but let's see... The miasma, and being marooned, and the whole thing with robo-Satan space Cthulhu being involved since that doesn't seem to be boding well for anybody. I guess you could consider the company a catch, but most of it is agreeable.

[Devi chuckled at all that.]

I've seen worse places right out of the gate, so despite all that, I think I can live with it. The company doesn't seem so bad, so far.

I can't help but want to ask where, now. And honestly? The company's the best part of being here.

[She grinned. It was hard to not like Sam, really.]

Well, it doesn't sound any crazier then Space Satan and Cthulhu. Hell isn't a far jump once you've got that under your belt.

You're right; it doesn't sound any crazier, even if it is mildly disconcerting and raises a couple of questions.

Hell has a tendency to do that, I've noticed. This place doesn't look that big, I'm sure we'll run into each other. I don't mind answering questions, so long as there's something to drink.

This place does have alcohol, doesn't it? Not that I drink that often, but a shot now and then or a beer is good.

Sooner or later, and likely sooner if you settle in or near the Hub.

You bet, and you aren't the first person to ask upon arriving. I gotta recommend The Bloody Masterpiece at Your Place. The virgin version especially makes for a nice lunch.
