Okay . . . First-Forged aren't here. How the frag am I not still dead?

[Guess who took enough fireworks to the cockpit to punch through his spark chamber? Same mech who's sitting on his berth looking like he's got the MOTHER OF ALL PROCESSOR ACHES, with worried, chirping robo-firelizards around him.]

We only ever really met five, but there were nine of them. Sent supposedly by Primus himself . . . to "prepare the world for his arrival" or something. And to monitor a tear in space and time called the Lambda. Actually . . . I'm pretty sure the Miasma's related. It behaves a lot like the Lambda did.

I don't know what all powers the First-Forged had, but . . . every arriving refugee was bound to one or another of them upon arrival. And I don't know how, but if a refugee was killed, his First-Forged had the power to try to bring him back.

It was usually successful.

[She gapes at him.] R-really?! [She's about breathless, almost desperate in her want.]

You'll take my flying? I...I'm ready...whenever you are.

[Life Light, she wants to be in the air so much!]

. . . I'll be there shortly.

[Yep, he saw that.]

[She near about lets out a sob, just overwhelmed. She's going to go flying!]

[She'll make sure to be waiting where he can easily see her....and she's let Lea know, of course...]

The more the merrier. [Wing certainly had no problem with Jadewing joining them.]

[And he’s certainly amused by the firelizards. He chuckles softly as he does lazy spirals and a wide barrel roll around Thundercracker and his companions.]

[He'll come find her, scoop her up, and just kind of deposit her in his cockpit even as he transforms and starts a lazy climb.]

[There probably should have been a startled yelp from her, but there's nothing more than a gasp, a long disorienting moment as her world moves and flips and does all sorts of strange things around her, and then she's sitting in a seat. She'll press hands and face to the window to look out.]

....Wow... [Pure. Awe.]

Now where would the fun be in that? [Also smirking] I'll see you there, then.

[She is going to take a few moments to digest this information properly, weighing it with everything she's seen, hear, and heard of.]

[True to his word, the Seeker is hanging out along the edge of the space when she gets there, sitting on a giant bench designed for Cybertronians, his robo-firelizards perched on his shoulder vents and wingtips. The lizards start chirping and chittering, wings flapping, when they spot her. He gives a nod of greeting.]

[Sam waves, limping up to a conversational distance.]

Hey.

[She eyes the firelizards curiously, but they don't quite manage to pull her attention from Thundercracker.]

How're you doing?

[The Seeker shrugs, venting a sigh through his intakes.]

Tired.

[In more ways than one, though he's chocking it up to recent resurrection. ~~He's also just starting to feel the edges of the pull of the Miasma, not that he has any idea.~~]

So what more did you want to talk about?

Ah, lessee. How this whole 'back from the dead' thing works, if I'm not asking too indelicately? And if the people the First-Forged successfully reanimated were all Cybertronians, or just all robots from wherever, or what? And some other stuff, but that, that's a good start.

[TC shrugs.]

I don't know how it works. I asked that once of the one I was bound to. Even he couldn't explain it fully. I think it had to do with their connections to us, the ones forged through their Glyphs that we all wore to keep the Lambda from driving us murderously insane. [a grimace at that…but he witnessed what happened to those /not/ bound, so not like he could argue.] He said it had to do with attempting to call the deceased's spirit back and binding it to the body. Except . . . I don’t think it always required having the body to do it.

I don’t remember if non-Cybertronians were ever killed and restored in the past. Nowadays, it's not the First-Forged anyway. At least, I don't think so. From what I understand, they're all dead. What I can tell you is whatever force is at work these days, whatever brought me back, does work on organics too. Jendayi was also killed by an explosion, and she's been restored.

[There's a pause as Sam just sort of... processes all this. As much as she's come to accept---before and after being stranded on an alien planet---people being brought back from the dead is something else. Especially since it seems they aren't coming back wrong, which is what she'd expect elsewhere. Thundercracker's aura is a little muted, maybe, the colours (such as they are) sort of desaturated, but it's not that far from what she'd see on anyone feeling tired or flat. What's there isn't anything to raise a red flag.]

Wow.

Look, I'm sorry to be grilling you, but would you mind filling me in on the Glyphs and the being bound to the First-Forged? Even if it's no longer applicable, it's context I'd appreciate. But, I get it if I get 'some other time,' because... yeah. You've kinda had a day here.

...I'd also like to hear what the hell they told you---and who 'they' were---when you woke up because this is kind of a curveball.

[Thundercracker shifts, the fire-lizards on his wings and vents twitching and chirping as they rebalance.]

No one was there when I woke up. I just found myself on the berth in my apartment.

As for the Glyphs . . . they were energy signs embedded on someone's surface, usually on a shoulder. There were five that I know of, each denoting a different First-Forged. Mine marked me as . . . "belonging", for lack of a better word, to Alpha Trion. A little of his power bound to my spark - or whatever - somehow kept me from being driven violently psychotic by the energies of the Lambda that tainted me by having been pulled here through it. Same for everyone else. Apparently, we'd arrive somewhere in the junkyard directly below the Lambda - where the Warehouse is now - and acolytes of the one of the First-Forged would find us and take us back to their temple, where we were bound to the First-Forged before we gained consciousness.

Unfortunately, that's about all I know.

[There's a little noise at that; something to approximate 'huh, that's weird' without actually interrupting. After Thundercracker finishes his explanation, Sam claps her hands together.]

I'm going to do the decent thing and cut myself off before I get on the questions to come up off all that, but I wanna thank you for giving me the run-down and patiently fielding everything I've asked.

[Thundercracker shrugs, mindful of the fire-lizards.]

No problem. Not like I was busy.

[And...not like he couldn't use some company, if he were honest.]

[One of the fire-lizards, a brown/tan/yellow one (Numbers), leaves its perch on the tip of TC's wing, gliding down to a low branch close to Sam. It looks at her, chirping and "fluffing" its wings (sort of - they're mechanical and bat-like) at her.]

[Sam shrugs, content to leave it at that. Her attention shifts to the fire-lizard as it moves, and although she's had very little to do with any of the creatures, she's unworried as she watches it descend. When it chirps, she smiles, taking a couple of steps closer and stretching up a hand for it to lean down and sniff at/otherwise inspect, if so inclined. It's what she'd do for almost any other variety of pet.]
