[accidental video] - southeastern sector

[As promised, the world ~~ends~~erupts in explosions here and there and everywhere one random night. Why wouldn't it, right? Sure, this is all fun and games, or is it?]

[It's not quite, not for this little mech the camera has seen fit to track, as is apparent from his screams as he darts behind this piece of rubble and that, trying desperately to get to that broken down building right over thar. Whatever has caused these massive craters around him, it clearly isn't finished, and he's right in the middle of it.]

[He lets loose a last cry as one particularly shiny explosion catches him right near on his aft and makes a wild dive for the ruined entrance - or at least, it might have once been an entrance at one point - and scrambles to get back up from the floor to slam his back against the wall, optics wide with ~~fright~~alarm. He presses a palm to his chest to help steady him because omfg what is going on even this is cray. He could fight back if he could at least see what he'd ticked off, but there's just nothing there! That same hand is lifted and two fingers go to the side of his head]

Master Drift! Slipstream! Please, respond! We are under attack!

[And he has no idea where he is. And please are you alive. This isn't Earth. This looks more like Cybertron. But it's not. Scrap is going down. What happened here what even is going on this is so not Kansas anymore STOP SHOOTING AT HIM]

[Whatever that little drone thing was that was near him, he hopes it... Oh. There it is, right in front of him. He stares at it. His mouth moves to say more. And the feed drops there.]

[He nods.] I will put my hand near your injury. You will feel a bit of energy, nothing painful, just odd, a tingling is what most say it feels like, and in a few moments your wounds will be repaired.

When you're ready, Jetstorm.

[He nods.]

I am small. If I can find somewhere to hide, I may be alright. But if nowhere is safe, then I guess it does not matter where I go. But thank you.

Where you go may not matter, but you'd be stupid to go off on your own.

[ulp. He looks down at his knee, how pathetic it is, and clutches the edge of the table again.]

I am ready.

[Paian smiles and rests a hand on Jetstorm's leg, just above his knee.] You're being very brave, Jetstorm. I'm honored by your trust.

[Jetstorm will feel exactly what Paian said he would: a tingleing sensation and no pain. The pain from the actual injury goes first, then he will be able to wach as his body essentially repairs itself on doubletime! It will feel decidedly strange but shouldn't be too physically uncomfortable. About 30 seconds later...]

Al right. All done. You did good.

[He can't really argue that. He had someone with him and look how that ended for him.]

I would like not to be alone. Do you have a suggestion?

[Asking advice from a thus-far helpful Decepticon. That should be an oxymoron all around.]

[Drift gives Jetstorm a not and steps back outside, making sure as well as He can that he's not about to explode before transforming. Once he's in his alt mode, he pops his door open ]

[That was certainly easier than he thought it would be. The hurt is gone almost immediately, but he hadn't tried to move the joint out of fear it would come back on him. The scorch marks disappeared; the small dent on the side where whatever hit him had met its mark popped out, but it did feel strange, as promised, not painful. There was the tingling, almost like a numbness, and then it was all gone. Done and over.]

[Amazed, he tried the joint, tentatively. No pain, no sparking, no stiffness, and it moved, as cleanly as it ever had before.]

It is repaired! That was astonishing! [And now to put a little weight on it... Yep, it's like nothing ever happened.] Never have I seen anything like this!

[He's doing his best to try and keep her safe from those explosions. Lucky for them both, his armor's pretty thick for such a small bot, but it won't last them both forever.]

Jetstorm.

[Drift is down in his vehicle mode, door open, and he hurries just outside the doorway, making himself a shield for the small child as best he can.] Quickly!

Minicon~ How utterly delightful.

Exactly how big would you say you were? Bigger than a human, yes?

[BOOM you thought we were gone didn't you]

[But at the moment, he's not sure what he likes less, the warzone outside or the look on that bot's face.]

I am not taller than Denny Clay. We must speak of this at another time. I am in no place to- [BOOM]

Thank you for helping me, Jetstorm. [She'll give him a quick hug before pulling a deep breath and dashing towards Drift. Don't mind her startled and frightened scream at a nearby explosion.]

[Paian smiles and gives Jetstorm's shoulder a gentle squeeze.]

Glad I could be of help to you.

[He hesitates...He's got to be crazy.]

You could come with me until this is over.

[Assuming you can get past the brands on his arms.]

[It wasn't quite what he's been thinking. But he's not sure about anything at all here, and thus far, this one hasn't tried to hurt him, hasn't threatened him, even brought him to a medical facility. And he did say his partner was on the other side now.]

[He thinks back to the human child and the white bot who'd taken her to safety. The child trusted that one, but something told him it wouldn't be bad to take Breakdown's offer.]

I would be grateful. I will not make trouble.

[Thankfully Drift isn't too far away. As soon as she's in he slams his door shut. HOP ON JETSTORM ITS GO TIME]

No idea what a Denny Clay is, but if you survive those blasts perhaps I'll come find out for myself.

[He chuckles and shuts off the feed.]

[Given a few more moments to explore his newly healed knee, he looks up at Paian, optics so wide, then straightens and bows.]

You have my deepest thanks for helping me to recover. How may I repay you for your kindness?

[Wait, what did that mean?... Never mind, he's got more important things to worry about. Like living.]

[That hug halts him, briefly. This is foreign to him, almost as much as the world around him. But then it's gone, and he has things to do.]

[It'd be a lot easier to do them if whatever it was that exploded just then hadn't caught him in the side of his knee. He goes down with a sharp cry, pushed toward the white bot into a heap on the rubble. It's a moment or two before he can gather himself enough to turn and look down at the injury - and oh yes, if the pain is any indicator, that's definitely an injury.]

[There are sparks jumping from the joint now. That's not good. No use in trying to move it, every attempt ends badbadbad.]

[His voice is strained. This really sucks, guys.] G-go! I will be fine!

[Now...are you one who can say "thank you" and just accept that, or will you insist on repaying this debt?]

[...He...he accepted. Wow, he wasn't expecting that.]

[He nods.] I'll let Knock Out know. And, I'm sure you will anyway, [Autobot and all that] but watch out for Akito when we get back, he's smaller than you are and...human. [or part, but he doesn't feel like explaining that.]

[He may be either. Give him a minute to run that one by himself again. He looks up at Paian, optics bright.]

You are truly honorable, Guardian Paian. If there is ever anything that I may do to help you, please do not hesitate to ask. I will perform for you to the best of my abilities any task you may need.

[Another bow, deeper this time, fist to palm. He means it.]

[To be honest, he wasn't either. But it was a life he saved out there, and Jetstorm would be dishonoring them both if he didn't at least make the effort.]

I have a little experience around humans. Your Akito will not be harmed. [If this human is anything like Commander Russell, they'll get on just fine.] I am in your debt, Breakdown. [He's not able to bow for you out of respect for the actions taken, the sacrifices made, but he'll make up for that later in full. For now, please accept him just... bowing his head.]

I’ll certainly not turn down a helping hand around here, but you are not obligated to do so. Look after yourself for now, get past this bit of chaos and find a place to settle, then if you’re interested in volunteering you can come back and see me then, all right?
