[voice | private to Breakdown | also backdated]
Hey, Breakdown.
[Sam's tone is one he's heard before---the once before, when Knock Out arrived and no-one yet knew whether he was real or another imposter; serious and slightly apologetic.]
I'm sorry to be sort of springing this on you, but I have something important to ask.

[Bwip.]
[It's soon-ish that Sam arrives at the apartment, announced by a now-familiar knock (low) on the door.]
Re: [voice to action]
[action]
Hey.
I gotta say: this is weird.

[She'll turn up her hands, shrugging. It is what it is, but still.]

Last thing I want is to be facing an enemy without an attack, but that's not far from it. So...
When you're ready?
no subject
Breakdown! Why didn't you tell me we were having company? I would have tidied the place up a bit.
[And a polite little nod to Sam HI SAM]
What are you two up to?
no subject
She's here to test her magic attack, see what it does to bots.

[Sam gives a little wave, nodding in affirmation.]
Figured it would be for the best, so I know what I've got if I'm in a bad spot and bereft of my emergency contacts. Don't suppose I could count you as one...? Yet to really see it on the road, but I bet your alt-mode moves like a rumour.

[yes perfect the way to Knock Out's spark is right through his ego good job. he even puffs up a bit, like one of those sassy fat birds. Only metal and shiny.]
Well now, I think that can be arranged. Just try to go easy on him, hm~?
[he's sure Breakdown can take it buuuuut hey.]

I should be asking you that, since it makes no difference to me.

[There's little to it---she looks at Breakdown, and then there's a faint, brittle chatter as a patch of paint on his chest abruptly bubbles into blisters. They appear so suddenly most break open and show the now-bare metal beneath, creating a mass of tiny craters covering an area the size of the big bot's palm.]

Er...
[No really what is this meatball doing]
no subject
Huh...That was...different. It has a sting to it, but that's gone the moment it'd one, and it's not much.
Sorry, Sam.
[And then he notices the look on his partner's face...and smirks, amused.]
no subject
Son of a bitch.
[It comes out almost conversationally, before Sam flaps a hand at Breakdown's 'sorry'.]
You've got nothing to say sorry for. If it wasn't for you, I would be without some pretty vital information. Now I know: I'm going to have to get creative when I can't call for help.
no subject
[Don't mind Knock Out getting all prissy guys sorry sorry]
That's the last time you volunteer for any weird magic experiments! Do you have any idea how long it's going to take to fix that paint!?
no subject
Hey, it doesn't bother me. This is why I volunteered and you didn't.
