[Oh dear. Someone's not in Kansas -- er, California -- anymore. Far from it; Hiro has Awakened in the Northwest District, and finds all this nature and trees extremely unusual and disconcerting. He's grimy and confused and irritated and he's trying desperately to orient himself. Where's the city? Where are the buildings or the wind turbines -- you can see those from anywhere.

The little robot following him would be way cooler if it weren't for the aforementioned nature, and the fact that Hiro has to keep shooing it away and interrupting it's welcome message.] I don't need any aid, I need my friends to stop being jerks and cut this out! Can you not-- personal space, buddy!

[He swats at the robot again, muttering dark, age-inappropriate words under his breath and stumbling over the uneven terrain. He's so focused on how irritated he is with his friends, that he almost doesn't see the wild boar snuffling through the underbrush.

...until he trips over it of course.] Hey! Watch where you're--

Uhhhh...my location is up a tree. Surrounded by angry space pigs. Kinda hard to miss.

I think it may be a good idea to get you to the city. What do you say?

[Hiro breathes a heavy sigh of relief, stepping forward to the offered hand.]

Yes, oh my god, yes.

[Wing smiles and will wait for Hiro to climb into his palm.]

Hang on then. [He'll gently curl his fingers up around Hiro a bit and carefully stand, tucking his hand to his chest.]

[The Knight may have the time to start for the city, but he and his passenger should hear a shout in among the normal forest noises.]

HIRO? HELLO?

[It's a ways off, that voice; far enough to be faint, but near enough there's no guessing as to its owner.]

[Hiro looks mildly alarmed, glancing up at Wing.]

Oh, right. Some lady from Canada said she's coming too.

[He'll head her direction.] He's over here, Sam!

[Since she could just catch that, there's an acknowledging]

[and since (with his height) Wing's white armour makes him much easier to find than any treed teen, it isn't long before Sam's pulling up on something which was once a snowmobile. To Hiro it probably looks like a jetski on a tread-track, with two wheels under the engine.]

Guys! Good to see you.

[The high-pitched scream of powerful turbines announces the inbound F-15 Eagle. The fighter jet drops its nose about the same time that Hiro spots it, shedding altitude quickly and only pulling up in the last hundred meters or so to unfold and reveal a +20-foot-tall robot that lands easily on his feet several yards away. Bright red optics scan the area, spotting the boy in the tree. TC strides over, somewhat careful of the trees and brush, but then he'll kick at the boars.]

Go on. Beat it.

[The boars try to fight back, attempting to gore at his ankles with their tusks, but nope - Cybertronian armor needs more than anything they've got to even scratch it. Ignoring them, the Seeker meets Hiro's gaze, holding up a black hand just under him that's big enough for the boy to lay across wrist to fingertips.]

So, about that 'someplace else' you'd like to be?

[Hiro rather recklessly leans over the side of Wing's hand to get a better look at the modified snowmobile.] You two know each other?

[Hiro, for his part, is obligingly stunned by this display, slooooowly sliding down off the tree and into the offered hand, sitting cross-legged and staring up at the unexpected huge robot.

After a long pause, he says reverently:] That...was awesome.

[Wing smiles at Sam, and then at Hiro.] We’re friends.

[Pausing to pull off her helmet, Sam stands and grins up at the others.]

Wing's the first I found here. And basically the best Samaritan.

[That question surprises a huff of laughter out of her.]

['Hiro wtf' is right; that assertion gets a real laugh out of Sam, even as she turns the hand not holding her helmet up in a wordless 'what's with this kid?']

It is a reference, but to a story so wide-spread across Earth 'Samaritan' is often used as a synonym to 'do-gooder'. I'll explain better later, but yeah.

[From that last word on, she's again addressing Hiro.]

You, me, Wing, and others. Maybe not often, but it's not uncommon, either.

[Hiro wobbles a little when his new seat starts moving, but steadies himself quickly.]

Yeaaaah, what was your first clue? The panicky tree-climbing or the tiny squishy-ness?

If I'd been stuck up there long enough, I could've totally figured out someway to weaponize a tree branch. Necessity is the mother of invention and all that.

[Hiro looks a little relieved to hear this -- that means that other humans have survived among (admittedly awesome) giant robots, and his chances of being stepped on are slim.]
